I compiled the latest boinc client (v. 4.72) and tried to use it with einstein. Everything is working quite well, especially the benchmark gives a much better result and so the claimed credits are more realistic.

But when I connect to the server to update, e.g. get new work or send finished work, I get these messages from the server:

Message from server: platform 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' not found

No WUs are uploaded and no new work is send.

Is there anything I can do about this? I'd really like to use this newer boinc-client because of the much better benchmarking.

Boinc was compiled on SuSE 9.3 with wxGTK 2.6.2 as an 64-bit app.

Thx for any help

I confirm this ?bug?

I tried to edit the xml files to pretend to have a 32 bit system.
But it didn't work.

I am using Suse 9.3 64 Bit (started with the 9.0 on 64bit edition series 2 years ago) I compiled boinc myself (with no extra optimizations).

Everything the same here ;-)

But in the meantime I found a workaround. I installed the latest linux-beta app for einstein and it seems to work without problems with boinc 4.72.

Shure I have to wait until the first results are finished, but this still seems to be a light in the tunnel of depressing claimed credits. ;-))
