I have an RTX 2070 and am experiencing this problem. Every time a WU is aborted this message appears in the Event Log: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." A similar message pops up in the system tray.
When a similar problem occurred in early November, I contacted NVidia tech support, which seemed only too eager to help solve the problem. However, how is NVidia to lay hold of a faulty WU with which to reproduce the problem?
So, my question is, is anyone at Einstein@Home working with NVidia to get them to fix whatever is ailing the display driver WRT the RTX 2070 and 2080?
I don't feel it's necessarily a bug. Something has changed however. Something with the way the coding works and interacts with the new RTX cards.
As of the other day when I noticed the problem, it was happening to all work units being sent to my machine. If they are still using the new data set, I'd think any work unit would qualify as faulty and could reproduce the problem.
It's not just Einstein either. GPUGrip errors out, Asteroids@home errors out, Seti and Primegrid both work, Einstein was working until this latest data set. I haven't checked milkyway@home or any other projects using GPU workunits. Collatz might be one to check with the new RTX cards. Why some projects work and others don't, I couldn't tell ya.
Folding@home, a non BOINC project also works with both GPUS. 1070 and 2080. I just installed it for the hell of it to see, was working on the few min I let it run.
