Topic 216792

I have BOINC up and running and it is using 90%+ of my CPU and 70%+ of my RAM, however it is not using my GPU at all, in the computing preferences I have unchecked "Suspend GPU computing while computer is in use" however if I open task manager I can see that my GPU is not being used. How can I enable it?

Since you have chosen to hide

Since you have chosen to hide your computers in your preferences it is impossible to see what is going on.

Close out BOINC manager and

Close out BOINC manager and relaunch. Post the first 30 lines of the event log here so we can review it. Also, as Betreger stated, hiding your computers makes it hard for us to help.

But when I open up task

But when I open up task manager I can see that BOINC is using ~0.1% of my GPU, surely that is practically nothing?

It also shows a load of ~1%

Oh wait, it shows ~90%, why would task manager not show this?

Where in task manager are you

Where in task manager are you seeing that? I don't know where to look in task manager to see GPU usage.

If you right click on the box

If you right click on the box where it shows CPU or Memory usage and then enable GPU it should show. Or under performance there is a graph that shows the usage over time.

That doesn't work here, maybe

That doesn't work here, maybe that's a laptop thing. Anyway GPUZ is working for you and you are getting valid work done.
