I would imagine the new 'non-tuning' run is just being set up at the moment and wont actually be launched until the tuning run is completed (or withdrawn). I would also imagine there will be an announcement just prior to or at the time of launch. If you deselect the tuning run now, you might run out of work for a period.
If you check the server status page you will see the new daemons (work generator, etc) are listed but are all disabled. There are no new columns yet in the Workunits and Tasks section.
