Not surprising about the

Not surprising about the flashing stunt.  The 560-580 are just faster and hotter running rebadges of the 460-480.  The 550 is the only completely new product; same core count as the outgoing 450 but between significantly faster memory, 14 vs 28nm process, and upgrading all the way from GCN1 to GCN4 architecture should be a much larger upgrade than the ones above it in the lineup, as is the stealth launched 540 on a slightly cut down version of the same chip as the 550.  Unfortunately the even lower 5xx cards are still rebadges of older generation parts.  The 520 is all the way down to GCN1.  The 530's slightly more interesting in that AMD's listing it as a GCN3 part; but at a much lower core count than anything else GCN3 has shipped with.  Making it an open question of it's a new GCN3 part, or just a way to use up some really bad dies that had a huge number of dead cores on them.

The really interesting AMD launch is their upcoming VEGA GPU which will slot in above the 580 and should be somewhere in the same ballpark performance wise as the NVidia 1070 to 1080Ti.  AMD's officially said 2017H1, with the rumor mill claiming a late May launch.

After I read the Anand

After I read the Anand article on release day I thought this was nothing more than a BIOS update. Sure enough it is. At my home forum there is constant badgering of NV for unannounced product releases like the TXp and at Intel for 5-10% gains in the past few years. I'd say this is so much worse. Its the exact same chip yet a new product lineup. Just release new OC'd versions, AMD.
