As of yesterday I started getting gpu units again, I'm still running them right this minute.
I see you aborted a bunch of workunits on the 12th, are you running ANY units right now, or are you just getting one t a time? I would also try updating your gpu driver from 342.01, my gpu is running version 372.70 that could make a difference too.
I was offline for several weeks. When I came back I had to update my drivers to receive work. Update your driver to the latest version and I bet Mikey is right.
I think the people who are suggesting your update your driver have a good idea.
As the OP is using Windows 10 and since I think I've seen people saying that the OpenCL capability is not provided by default by Microsoft for Windows 10 drivers, perhaps it's not so much a matter of using a newer driver but rather making sure that those components that provide OpenCL are correctly installed. Since I don't use Windows at all, I have no direct knowledge of this. My gut feeling is that maybe the particular GPU being used (GTX 285) could be too old for the latest drivers or that it could well perform better with an older driver anyway.
The OP started two separate threads about this and I happened to stumble on the other one first and gave a detailed answer there, not knowing about this thread at the time. The thought has often occurred to me that there would be lots of casual volunteers that would not be aware of the server logs. So I decided to create a How to use the server logs thread on the 'Getting Started' board and make it 'sticky'. It's probably overly verbose but I'd certainly appreciate any thoughts or corrections you might care to give.

As it happens, when 1.15 was newly deployed, one of my four candidate machines was unable to obtain work. As were two of the others, it was a Windows 10 machine. All had Nvidia cards, most rather modern (Pascal).
In declining to give it work, the following message was created:
"[version] NVidia device (or driver) doesn't support OpenCL"
At the time that machine had driver 372.54 on it, not very old at all, but older than the three successful machines. I subsequently placed the current driver on that machine, and rebooted, on which it promptly got work. I consider that pretty strong evidence that at least in some cases a driver update can overcome this problem.
Worth a try, I think.
On the other hand GTX 285 is indeed quite old, so perhaps nothing will help.

Essentially it means you have to manually install your gpu maker drivers manually, and may have to do it again after each Windows update, but not after EVERY update. Since updates are automatic now in Win10 you could be crunching fine one day and then not crunching at all the next day. And yes MS is aware of the problem but since the number of people affected is small compared to most Win10 users the priority is pretty low to fix it.
