It's all cool. Actually there is much truth to birth order hypotheses. Exceptions for sure. If you watch David Attenborough etc there's this cuckoo that lays the egg in another birds nest, as it does, and that cuckoo egg hatches a few crucial days early. The young cuckoo then tips out the unhatched host species eggs ( down, down, down .... splat ! ) when the adults are away. Now that gives me the willies, hair up the back of the neck type of feeling.

The 26th of November is this Saturday, and is the first day of the museum's Happy Holiday Railway event.
Which reminds me: I don't think I mentioned that a couple of Saturdays back, I went out to help with the restoration of one of the cars used for that train. I scraped gunk off the window openings so they would be smooth when the windows were installed. Then I sanded green crud that I don't want to think about, especially how much of it I inhaled, off the window frames before they were installed. I also scraped a bit of paint off the ceiling and really don't want to know if it contained lead. This confirmed that I hate doing this kind of work. But doing most of it sitting down made the faint warm glow of doing something useful almost worth it.
