It's good to be back.  :-)

Howdy Scott,

You are starting to deploy quite a bit of computing power there !

Bill

Thanks for the compliment.  I've been wanting to get Dual GTX-750TI SC cards into Andromeda for awhile now...  Just finally got the funds to make it happen.  Andromeda is now maxed out.  :)

I don't know where this will put me RAC-wise here at Einstein; but, it will be fun to find out.  :)

I'm winning after breakfast.

I'm winning after breakfast.  Just took some good pictures of my sleeping kitty, Gidgette.  I'm currently updating my iPhone.  I'm lusting after the new ones, but I can't afford it and my 5 still works fine (aside from the home button that's getting wonky).

Hullo Annie.  Good to see you back.

It's gonna be potato soup for dinner.  It's warm outside, but I've been craving soup for weeks.

Hello everyone :)

Well now. With the new look website I am doing random justification checks ( RJC's ) on avatars presented by those with exactly three consonants and the first three vowels in their name plus more than one 'n' and only a single 't'. For quality assurance purposes. And because I am having quite an ego/power trip this week. At a glance your avatar

avatar.jpg

indicates that you :

A - have caught a meal

B - haven't caught a meal

C - fell out of an aeroplane awkwardly

D - fell out of an aeroplane, graceful at the start but got worse on the way down

E - tripped over fresh air ( there's just way too much of that about to avoid )

F - hit an invisible barrier at full throttle

G - just executed a pas de deux but the bloke let go

H - mistook a landmine for a rabbit and you shortly won't be with us anymore

I - failed the Walking Properly 101 final exam

J - failed the Walking Properly 101 final exam twice

K - misunderstand the whole limbo dance concept

L - are expressing happiness and delight at merely being alive & so ....

M - decided to stuff it & behave like a prat.

Prompt reply written on a hundred dollar note required, or you will be retro-actively banned ie. antenatal permissions will be withdrawn ( you won't have been able to post before you were born ).

Savage But Partly Mournful Frown, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Dunno why you funny people run Linux ......

For me it's because I want to run some things that attach to a pc that Windows won't run, for example at the moment it's an Avalon 6 bitcoin miner.

Since Windows won't run these things, most people are using Raspberry Pi devices which is that little thing on the right of the picture, I have no choice but to run Linux. I'm ALSO having problems with Win10 letting all of my backup programs from all of my different pc's connect to the one machine that has my backup drive on it, they all have the exact same account with the same permissions, but some just say 'this connection is not allowed'!!! There's plenty of space on the drive and it worked great under Win7!! I had a similar problem with Win7 way back when but some MS changed some stuff and I had to update to the latest dotnet stuff, but Win10 is supposed to do that on its own!! I got a magazine the other day on how to setup a home server using Debian Linux, it's a step by step process, so I may try that later this week or next. I have LOTS of older, for me, dual core pc's laying around that I can use to try it out. Being retired means if it doesn't work the only thing I've lost is half a day or so.

I went ahead and assumed you

I went ahead and assumed you meant awestraylian  "prompt" Mike :) so took my time. Was that wrong? Whatever... here you are!!

At sea level, air down near the ankle/foot area is a lot thicker and more treacherous than the stuff higher up - you know - around the knees. That was never a problem at higher altitudes. At higher altitudes, altitude was more of the problem, I think because there was so much more "down" around. Yes :/

Yes, it isn't isn't it :) I can't find my previous one anywhere. I believe it is on a demised computer - and my original one from SETI - which I took down for someone because it made them sad (and tbh, makes me sad too sometimes but for a different reason) but still use at boinc, wouldn't upload here for me yesterday :\

(this one: )

so technically speaking, I probably should have answered M. I half expected it not to work either - but it did

:)

I do intend to try again though...

edit: I just had another look at the criteria for getting an RJC... *sweep eyes towards Mike* it seems very very specific
