GPU driver when I switch to linux

Hey guys,
I have been unhappy with win10 since i got it, but it really started to irritate me recently. In that light, I'm switching to Linux, or you guys might be able to convince me to revert to 7. All of my hosts except my "Gaming Laptop" currently run Mint 17.3, and the only reason I haven't switched my laptop is because about 3 times a year I play games on steam. So far, I'm way more into crunching than gaming so that's hardly a factor anymore.
Anyway, whether I switch to 7, Linux, or stick to 10, I want to get more crunching power from my Laptop, at least until I build my crunching rig. So, What driver should I be running on a GTX 670MX, How many cores per gpu? Can I make it run concurrent tasks?

ok, i ru here a GTX 670 desktop, i am always used 2 workunits per gpu, don´t know what drivers are best on Minit, but for sure not always the newest.

On Ubuntu 16.04, I just use the Nvidia 361.42 driver that is available via the "Software & Updates" for two GTX 750 Ti's. They are easy to install, and run a little faster (maybe 10 to 15%) than the Windows 7 or 10 drivers on BRP4G-beta and BRP6-beta. I doubt that you would gain much from any other driver, and what works best on one Nvidia card probably works best on another, more or less.

Well I switched drivers from the open source to 361.42 and now boinc recognizes that I have a graphics card again. This past week since I switched from Win10 to Linux has created a new host so I still have ghost RAC from my Win10 machine, But I need this host to get back up to the upper 20k to 30k region again.
I also had another of my (Free computer) hosts die, I suspect the motherboard... Looks Like its time to clean another of my incredibly dirty and poor performing but free computers and keep rolling on.
