The website of E@H is not what one might expect of an international project with great importance, it's simply unconvincing and lackluster. My sympathy and confidence to this project is melting away.

In the current list of BOINC projects I could find little to no convincing alternative projects to participate. BOINC has obviously reached its age and apparently is in agony (this is licking no goat away, we say).

So I was looking around a bit and I pushed my nose on Folding@Home. Wow, what a project, what kind of Internet presence, what a performance potential ! I informed me briefly, downloaded what was needed and installed F@H on one computer, a simple and user-friendly procedure. The CPU and both GPUs (GTX 980 Hybrid) have been fully utilized immediately. I could get even slightly more out of the graphics card by increasing the power limits (not a problem since water-cooled).

We let F@H run in parallel with E@H for a while, the two projects get along well with each other. But it is becoming apparent, however, that we have in mind to reduce working for E@H. After 11 years of participation and continuous improvements in the processing power leaving the community will not be an easy step for us - we are humans, should it have someone not yet noticed :-) To help scientists and thus also of humanity in the fight against serious diseases is indeed a good alternative, I think.

A big thank-you to all who have answered in a helpful way to my questions. I hope that the ones I have scratched a little bit with my mostly undiplomatic criticism are taking this to think about the content and not as hurtful words.

I have done Folding for

I have done Folding for years.  It is not mutually-exclusive to Einstein.  And the cards that work best on one are not usually optimum for the other. I use my GTX 750 Ti's on Einstein, for their good memory bandwidth and high efficiency, and my GTX 970/980s on Folding for the QRB, and the memory bandwidth is not so important.

And it is summer.  You know perfectly well what happens in August in Germany.  So we will see what the fall brings.  Maybe they have been busy with the server upgrade.  Or maybe there are problems getting the data.

But I hope we get an update soon too.

Running both projects will

Running both projects will severely hurt FAH production. And moving it to Full only makes FAH use your GPUs while your computer is in use. I've recently moved most of my hardware from FAH to Boinc. For many projects, BOINC project admins are much more responsive than any FAH admin. Each have their benefits but either way its best to run a project 100% on a processor (CPU cores can be split)

I also prefer BOINC myself,

I also prefer BOINC myself, and have pretty much switched almost entirely to BOINC (except for two days a month on GPU for Folding@Home for a special event my team does).  Biggest thing for me is that I can do work for a wide variety of projects, but also if I want to stop and play a game for a while, I can easily do that without being penalized.  With Folding@Home and their quick return bonus (QRB) that attaching a passkey provides, delaying a work unit the couple of hours you gamed can impact the credit of the work unit itself.

With BOINC, so long as you get the work units in on time there is no penalty.  If it's a work unit that has a wingman, they might appreciate you not waiting until the 11th hour though, and that's why I tend to run a smaller buffer (2.5 and 0.5 days) so if I happen to spent a lot more time gaming than average, it usually doesn't affect things.

I should explain that I have

I should explain that I have dedicated machines, so can do both Folding and BOINC on the best hardware for each.  If I had to do it all on a single machine, I would probably do only BOINC projects.  It more easily allows for dual GPUs, for example.  With Folding, using two cards usually means that they have to be matched, but with BOINC they can be anything.  Still, I think that Folding is very good science, so I use my fastest cards for it and get the most QRB.

I have a 1070 and 970 in the

I have a 1070 and 970 in the same computer folding for the same event as WhiteWulfe. Once it's done they go back to BOINC. But FAH is easier setting up per card though. Asteroids doesn't have Pascal support yet so some manual config files have to be setup to not run on one card with Einstein running on the other. That has to be done per project if I want to split it. FAH has slots that control a piece of hardware.
