Mornin' Mikey. Uncle

Mornin' Mikey.

Uncle Chris's Odd Anecdotes

No.237 in an occasional series.

Everybody knows the signature tune of Monty Pythons Flying Circus. But hands up all those that knew that it was in fact The Liberty Bell March, composed in 1893 by John Philip Sousa.

We now return you to the normal service with a word from our sponsors.

"Do you suffer from failed socks? Then you need Dr. Hewsons patent suspenders to keep your spirits up, and your socks. Available at all good Haberdasheries, and under the counter in a plain wrapper at Boots the chemist.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Why do doctors have to practice?

RE: RE: Apparently they

Those little footie "socks" suck. Every time I tried them, the crawled down into the toe of my shoe. I prefer the ankle socks.

I have it on good authority

I have it on good authority Kathryn that Einstein staff get 20% off if they mention Mikes name at any branch of Boots. Not sure if the fashion grabs you or not though, most likely in the negative :-))

The itinerant little socks that go walkabout in ones shoes are known as rankle socks.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

I knew it was Sousa. Couldn't have come up with the title in any reasonable (or even unreasonable) time.

That is true. You get the voucher as you are being loaded into the police divisional van.

Cheers, Mike.

RE: *gets on radio* Yep,

Oh Dear. In Australia ? Well aren't we just the blessed ones ! Aussies are sort of sweary in a 'bloody oath mate' type of way so I guess this chap is who we've been cursing. He was in Loxton ( ? what/where ? ) all along.

Now to be serious : nutters aren't all bad. It's just a crap rep/cred. I mean, once in a mere 10^17 billion universes they will be right accidentally. You can't rule it out ...... :-))

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Ah Loxton. Between Pyap & Paruna. Oh course. I really shouldn't admit this openly, but : I haven't been anywhere near there. But I'm pretty sure in the early 80's I helped stop a fire going thataway .....
