Tuesday: Quicken says (in essence) it can't connect to the credit card I use all the time, although it does find my other card at the same bank. I get on bank's web site and notice the last four digits of that account are different. Hmmm.
Wednesday: I remember that that bank sends me email at an address I haven't checked lately. I check it and find a message that my request to enroll the new account number in e-billing has failed (because the main account is already enrolled). I find this slightly alarming. I'm thinking someone got ahold of them and reported my card lost and, oh by the way, send the new one to a different address and stop sending paper bills. I get the card and (using my phone's camera to read the phone number) call Customer Service. The computer asks for the last four of my account number or Social; I give the Social, suspecting it won't find the account. It says they have a high call volume and I should wait; I do. Finally, a real person comes on and I explain all this. She asks for the complete card number and she says it's not found. We go through entirely too much other identification and finally she says I have the two cards and a car loan. I ask why the one card changed. She asks what the old card is; I tell her it's my Amtrak Guest Rewards Master Card. She says it can't be with those first four digits and am I sure this isn't my old card from before Amtrak switched to this bank last year? I assure her it's the current one. Finally, she finds a notice that MasterCard/Visa International notified them of a vendor security problem (it doesn't say which vendor) and they're reissuing all the cards, but don't worry, the old card will work for another week or so. Okay, fine, but, I fail to ask, why didn't they notify me of this?
[resuming after about 7 hours' sleep]
With that settled, she transferred me to Online Services. We figured that out too and she asked me to take a survey she'd send me. Yeah, sure. (Yeah, right.)
Yawn.

Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
Instead of sitting with a computer on my belly, I should be taking a shower and getting dressed. I have an appointment with my dermatologist at 3 (followup on my fingernail and other things) and I want to visit my storage unit across the street from her office. They're raising the already ridiculous rent again.
I should also put my museum shirts in the washer. The rest of the laundry can wait until tonight or tomorrow.

There's rain coming, could be a storm about the time I'm going to the dr.

Hope everything goes well at the Dr's, David :) With regards the rain, I'd normally suggest taking an umbrella so you don't get wet.

I still have two boxes under my stairs that I haven't unpacked since we moved. In the fifteen years since, I only needed to get one thing out of them. I'm glad I didn't unpack them in the end because it was an important thing and I may never have found it otherwise :)
Hello everyone!
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Hello everyone!
If you haven't opened the boxes in 15 years, you probably can safely get rid of them. Then again, with my luck, the day after I got rid of them, there would be something that I really needed.
Tonight is pasta with homemade sauce and garlic bread.
