AND AMD just announced a brand new gpu coming out that takes advantage of this for 'the masses', it's priced at ONLY $199US and will be called the 480. The idea is to get people to stop using the cardboard things that hold your cellphone in front of your eyes so you can play 3d games. Guess someone will have to bring out some cheaper 3D monitors now too so you can actually see stuff in 3D since Windows, games and the gpu hardware is now, as of June 27th, available.

I was just looking at that video clip that *Insider* sent me via email....they don't get any money from me.
I have never paid for or played any games on a computer and since the days of Win95 I never had to pay for a Microsoft OS so Bill Gates didn't build his house with any of my money.
I guess nVidia was the only one that made money off of me........for being here
And that was when the 660Ti SC first came out and I have been running that so long I must have got my monies worth
Been years since I got a new CPU........even have two 3-cores running 24/7 and one I updated to Win10 for free and the other I decided to run with XP Pro until it croaks......I have a feeling it won't be the OS that gives up first
But then those birds have cost me quite a bit of money and time.......on that note......I have lots of sugar water to mix up for the tiny flying piggies!

I HAVE paid both Nvidia and AMD LOTS of money over the years for both video cards and in AMD's case cpu's as well. I have nothing less than a quad core running right now, and only one of those, with the rest being 6 or 8 core pc's and I even have three dual quad core Intel Xeon chipped pc's, I bought the whole machines off of Ebay so no money for Intel. The last ones are hyperthreaded to think they are 16 core pc's, they only run in the 2.?ghz range, but get the job done thru quantity not quality. The problem is that most of my gpu's are offline due to the extreme heat they put out. My basement is warm, yesterday it was 93.4F down there, and since my gpu's are air cooled sucking in that heat and then generating heat of their own just makes it TOO hot to crunch with many of them. I DO have a few Nvidia gpu's running, here there and someplace else too, but they seem to handle the heat better than the AMD gpu's do.
I also do NOT game, I'm no spring chicken anymore and my reflexes and reasoning skills aren't anywhere near where they need to be to figure those things out before I die, or otherwise have to start over. As for crunching with the gpu's I CAN do that, but on most of the gpu capable projects I'm already #1 on my Team. And on those I'm not at this point I don't NEED to pass my own teammate if he's going as fast as he can!!
