I signed up for notification of when selling begins at Nvidia's site some days ago. The e-mail today from them expressly stated
Quote:
GeForce GTX 1080 goes on sale starting May 27 at 6 am PT.
Which translated for time zone is the same date/time widely rumored.
Now maybe their control over all sellers is not airtight. Or maybe they actually like a little "sooner" activity of folks doing things before the official opening gun (just to get more excitement and publicity going), but I'd guess that many of the big sellers will in fact enable selling shortly after 9 a.m. EDT, 8 a.m. CDT, 7 a.m. MDT, 6 a.m. PDT.
USA sales started at 0900 Eastern. Reference / Founder's Edition only. They sold out in minutes, and I'm sure many were purchased by resellers.
I'm hoping for some of the custom models this week.
Several sites are reporting a good many non founders edition cards from just about every card manuf going:-) Very few seem to be on general release though.
Also Guru3D has the latest afterburner 4beta3 and an o/c guide for the 1080.
And evga has a new precisionXoc version on download.[USA but poss d/l problems]
I wait with bated breath the first soul to buy and o/c a non ref card..
Got my brand new 1080 already installed and crunching happily.
Not sure about the settings though. I have four Einstein WUs running at the moment that yield around 90% core usage.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE! AHHHHHH!!!! Productivity has dropped 25% this week just from googling "GTX 1080" every 20 minutes.

Apparently only a little faster than a 390X, who crunch a WU in 2200 sec 1 at a time.
Maybe 4 at a time is too much due the I5 CPU who actualy feed the GPU. Who knows?
