Hi,

On 17./16. April I got a total of 12 invalid tasks for

Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Parkes PMPS XT) v1.57 (BRP6-Beta-cuda55)

on different hosts:

6148 (4)
7162 (1)
7507 (2)
9369 (5)

Could this be a coincidence ?

Arthur

Invalid Tasks

There seems to be a problem with the new BRP validators that I deployed this morning during maintenance. I stopped them for now and we'll revalidate once the problem is found.

I currently have 55 validate

I currently have 55 validate errors for PMPS XT tasks and all but about 3 have occurred in the last 2-3 days. These are spread over a range of hosts so it's not just a couple of machines having a meltdown. 55 tasks in such a short time is unusually high for me so it looks like there might be a problem with some of the tasks that is causing this.

Christian has mentioned in another thread that he is investigating.

Cheers,
Gary.

Gary: I already reset the

Gary: I already reset the validate errors from today so they get revalidated once I tested and deployed the fixed validators. Can you check that you are own to a more normal level now?

I'm not Gary, but I had something like seven Parks PMPS invalid results showing this morning (normal is zero). They are all gone now. So on my flotilla the measure you took was effective.

Sorry for the late reply - other commitments. I've checked again and instead of 55 validate errors for BRP6 I now have exactly zero! This seems almost too low - I hope the validator isn't being too lenient now :-).

Cheers,
Gary.

Is it correct that only a day or so of invalid tasks were revalidated? IF so, it would not account for the extra 250 or so BRP6 tasks that I suddenly got credit for a couple days ago! See https://einsteinathome.org/node/198577 (My invalid and validation pending tasks accounted for about 100 and have not changed very much lately.)

I did reset only about 300

I did reset only about 300 BRP6 tasks (from different users) that where affected by the validator problem. It's possible that we saw another odd bug where too much Credit is granted for mysterious reasons like we saw a while ago when FGRPB1 started. I checked the logs and this was another one time thing that is hard to debug.

It appears to have hit many in the top 50 RAC list, since the RAC's changed but the ranks did not change. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
