Thanks, Bernd! I appreciate your interest and efforts.

Unfortunately, the client on my G5 is now detached from this project and can't communicate with it to reattach. But obviously I'll keep monitoring these fora for any news. My Intel Mac's still attached.

That's the curse of using/supporting an outdated, unsupported end-of-life OS.

It's the curse of buying a rugged, long-lasting, and reliable machine just days before Apple announced it was switching the whole platform over to a different kind of processor! :\

Backgorund: we use an

Backgorund: we use an up-to-date SSL certificate to protect any network traffic that contains sensitive data. That SSL certificate uses SHA256 as signature algorithm which defines the minimum system requirements. Please see this for details:

https://support.globalsign.com/customer/portal/articles/1499561-sha-256-compatibility

TBH: I don't immediately see how OS X 10.5 can be supported when its OpenSSL version is 0.9.7. That said, OpenSSL >= 0.9.7i were released after 0.9.8 which means those might include SHA-2 backports and 10.5 at least provides 0.9.7l.

Not using proper SSL is not an option as we have an obligation to protect your data.

Best,
Oliver
