Okay, by (un)popular demand, here it is, the next round of: Einstein's very own, totally separate from the one on the server in Berkeley, jumbled word game.

Simple rules:
Previous winner posts a jumbled word or phrase.
Other people try to unjumble it.
The first person to do so, after it is confirmed by whoever posted it, posts the next word. If the poster doesn't confirm it within a reasonable time and the solver is absolutely sure, he/she may post the next one without confirmation.
Multiple posts, and multiple guesses within a post ARE allowed.
Silly definitions of obviously incorrect solutions are not mandatory but will always be appreciated.
[ I may award marks for what I personally judge to be funny/witty/silly/etc efforts. No penalty otherwise ... :-) ]
If no one gets it after a day or two, the poster may give hints.
Discussion of anything posted in the thread is allowed at any time, although it should stay at least somewhat related to the jumbled word(s).
It is highly suggested that the poster either write down the correct word or send her/himself a PM with it.
Responses must be 'kid friendly' etc, etc, or they *will* be moderated.
Use of an internet word scrambling/descrambling site is considered cheating.

The new jumbled word is:

ABDHIMRTY

It has no letters correct.

Are you sure you haven't put some of the vowels we need here, at seti, and some of the consonants we need there, here, David?

Whilst you sort out that undoubted mixup... :)

Thradimby – one of those nifty little gadgets that help you thread a needle this century instead of next

Barmydhit – modern upgrade of an old insult

which fitted your clue before you said it was wrong... but not after...

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Quite sure.

You are not doing as well here as at Seti. You have a grand total of ONE letter correct. I suppose that's not too bad, considering that you only made two guesses. If you had made four guesses and only got ONE right, that would be much worse. Anyway, the ONE you got is not the same as the one that's right in the jumble, but it is adjacent to it. That detail will not be much help to you at the moment, but it may be later. Oh, and the ONE correct letter is in the second guess, so you were improving as you went. That should tell you a little something right now.

ABDHIMRTY ONE!!?

ABDHIMRTY

ONE!!? 0.05percent??! What do you expect with this... this *gesture wildly at virtually vowel-free word*

...garbage!

Bmirthday - Conceived in the Welsh valleys (when they decided English words were nowhere near as interesting to look at as Welsh ones) an experimental use of the silent b before an m instead of after, led to a day filled with much laughter and great happiness and briefly led to the English being viewed more fondly than is usual. That didn't last - and the word is now defunct.

Bmyriadth - (see above) in Greek, refers to the number ten thousand. Here however, it refers to the tenth, and last word they stuck a B at the beginning of, before they moved on to putting K's in front of C's.

BraidMyth - this refers to the belief that braiding or plaiting long hair stops it from getting tangled. It is a LIE!!!

MatHybrid - refers to that point in history when people started using mats on tables instead of just on floors.

BimtHydra - have I ever told you how much I LOVE hydra's? Well I do. I mean, how can you not love something that gets around by slowly somersaulting about the place? Exactly. You can't. Anyway - it's one of them.

AmythBird - pretty blueish-purple fish

Rabidhmty - a spasm suffered by drummers

TribadHym - an ode to ladies who like ladies

Dirtyhamb - don't get me started, but it's how you get to become Prime Minister of Great Britain and all her tax havens :)

BathyRimd - how you know you've had a bath

:)

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

I expect you to solve it, Mr. Bond.

This is only the second time in my life that I have come across this root word. The first was in a magazine that I was not supposed to be reading as young as I was...

Before I say anything about the correctness (or lack thereof) in any of the rest of these words, let me say now that this one has SIX correct. Out of nine. It is the first time you (or Admiral Gloval at Seti) has gotten either the first or last letter right. I will let you consider just that much information for now, and if I'm in a good mood after lunch I'll tell you which of the others are right.

I'm in a moderate mood, so I'll give a tid bit.

Counting Admiral's two as #3 and 4, the above is 13. Your tid bit is that 14 has five right, and only two of them are the same as in 13. (Do the math...)

Oh, and for what it's worth, 5-7 and 10-12 are a whole goose nest.

DITHYRAMB - a male sheep with

DITHYRAMB - a male sheep with two thyroid glands as in "does he have a good pair or what?" :-))

{ my sister is a sheep grazier over in Western Australia, she reckons they are always on the lookout for a ram with two good ..... errr ... thyroids !! BTW if any of you are wearing wool there is a slight chance that it was grown in Boyup Brook }

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Well, the definition is totally different than what I have:

Quote:
noun
1. any wildly enthusiastic speech or writing.
2. a Greek choral song or chant of vehement or wild character and of usually irregular form, originally in honor of Dionysus or Bacchus.

but you have the right word, so you win.

*look suspiciously at

*look suspiciously at sheep*

I think this is more like what he's looking for, Mike *casually drop woolly jumper over dithyramb*

Dirthyamb - a gentle way of breaking the news that there is shortage of yams. As I am very fond of yams, there is no way gentle enough, and the whole thing is just too horrible to contemplate - so I won't.

Oh, and *fling eyes at David* - banging on about the Admiral and what he's been getting up to at seti... when I'm locked out... is not helpful *retrieve eyes* at all.
