While this is the project to which I prefer to donate my unused cycles, it doesn't appear that my Mac GPUs (2x AMD FirePro D300; 1x ATI Radeon 5770) are going to be useful anytime soon. Does anyone have a recommendation for another project, preferably in the areas of astrophysics/physics, where those processors will do the most good?
Thanks in advance.

I just have a memory of reading somewhere that MW had funding problems and was shut down. I didn't verify this so it could be an unfounded rumor, or just me imagining things. Hence the (?)
Seems to be fine now though which is good since it's my backup project to E@H

I don't really know anything about GPU crunching on Macs so what's the problem? I'm guessing it is just that Apple don't provide acceptable OpenCL libs, but I don't really know. Is there no chance that Apple will come to the party?
I googled FirePro D300 and saw they are based on the Pitcairn series, which I find to be nicely productive here (HD 7850s) running on Linux. The machine might get rather hot crunching with two of those :-).
Cheers,
Gary.

I have been unable to crunch data using GPUs since the introduction of OS X 10.10. The most recent updates to the software were supposed to alleviate the problem--or at least that was my understanding--but I am still unable to successfully complete a GPU WU. I'm not sweating my stats, but am pretty bummed by being unable to donate the >100K/day loss in what I can contribute to the project.

On the two projects which I contribute to that seems to be the Apple way and they have the audacity to charge extra for the feature of incompatibly.

They did lose a major NSF grant, but thanks to some crowdfunding they were able to collect enough donations to keep the project running for at least the next year, with more donations trickling in.

And they have published a MilkyWay Newsletter today. (PDF format)
Thanks for the info, folks.

Thanks for the info, folks. That said, with the recent flow of Parkes PMPS XT units my GPUs are back in business for the first time in ages. Thumbs up.
