Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now

I don't pay either but that's

I don't pay either but that's another story.

I went thru the upgrade process on a new for me pc and then MS did one of their updates and my harddrive got REALLY hot and died on me. I tried using the usb stick like the reports said I could to just install Win10 stand alone, all reg details are now kept at MS, not on our pc's anymore, but it didn't work. So I reinstalled Win7, on a different harddrive, and am staying there for a while at least, it is a Boinc only pc so Win10 was only an experiment anyway. The 'new' harddrive is running nice and cool with no problems.

I have shelves of pc 'stuff' so reuse 'stuff' all the time, the harddrive that died had gotten hot in the past, but never as hot nor had it actually quit. I will see if I can revive it, it is still recognized but not the data on it. The data itself is not important, but if I can save the drive I can reuse it later on a different Boinc only machine. It is a 500gb sata drive, a bit too big for my liking for Boinc only pc's, but still usable. I prefer the 160gb size as Win7 loads and Boinc runs just fine in that size, it also prevents me from loading a bunch of junk on the machines.

I am winning!!!

Posting without any plans to

Posting without any plans to go to 10 anytime soon, but with a pain in my back. Actually, I think it's my hip joint. If I press on the spot that hurts and then swivel my leg, I feel a bone sticking out and going in again, and when it goes in it doesn't hurt. The thing is, I can't keep it that way. It takes a lot of effort to hold it that way because my thighs are so damn fat and just so accustomed to being the wrong way.

And just because I can't say it at Seti right now, Ping!

Thanks...I think!!

Actually I had 15 pc's here at my house running just 2 weeks ago, this is only ONE of those, so no big deal really. I say 15 pc's 2 weeks ago because I bought a dual quad core Xeon pc off of ebay that thru hyperthreading has 16 cpu cores in it, it cost me $240 to get to my house! It runs just fine but didn't come with a harddrive, and is the machine I have been talking about for all of this. Anyway because I bought this new for me pc, my 2nd btw, I took the last of my dual core pc's and all but one of my quad core pc's off line. I am down 3 pc's to a total of 12 now, BUT I have MORE cpu cores running now than before!!! I now have 1 quad core pc, a handful of 6 core pc's, a few 8 core pc's and 2 16 core pc's. I get to 8 and 16 cores thru hyperthreading.

Of course I am WINNING!!!!
