Windows xp Freezing

When running program while working or when I'm away it completely freezes my comp. I running win xp complete updates, 3.2Ghz AMD xp, 1 Gig of pc4000, asus av880 mother board. I've tried both programs 4.19 and the 4.4 something, is their a patch or a fix?

Are you running the screensaver? If so, set it to "None" or "Blank", its known to cause problems. Especially with ATI cards, but not limited to them.

Technically, AMD hasn't made a 3.2GHz processor yet. Is your CPU an Athlon XP 3200+ maybe? or are you overclocking your system? If you are overclocking, your system may not be stable enough to run Einstein@Home with the settings you have.

I work on comps almost constantly, I funally figured it out, I needed to clean out the case and reapply heatsink grease to the cpu, that did the trick all right. Windows had been unstable for the last month or 2, I hadn't noticed because I work so much. Anyway if anyone is haveing their comp crash because of this program, try cleaning out the case with compressed air and clean and reapply heat sink thermal compund to your cpu. Thanks everyone Ted
