Anyone else in the same boat

Anyone else in the same boat as me?? I've seen absolutely no improvement in processing times for the new 1.57 app versus the old 1.52 app. Any comments?

It would probably help Bernd

It would probably help Bernd if people could (re-)state their GPU model when making remarks about speedup or otherwise.

Sure, my apologies. Running twin GTX970's on two systems with the latest drivers and BOINC platform. I can't reconcile the comments made by the other posters in this thread about the speedup with this new 1.57 app. I'm just not seeing it.

What is your setup like? For example, are you crunching on the CPU as well and how many tasks if so? Also, how many Einstein tasks are you running concurrently on the GTX 970s?

Crunching on 6 of 8 CPU cores

Crunching on 6 of 8 CPU cores and only one Einstein task on any card at any time.

When Einstein is crunching on

When Einstein is crunching on the GPU nothing else is crunching at the same time? The reason I ask is that my GTX660 gives a very consistent run time of 4 hrs running 3 wk units at a time or 18 a day. A quick look at on of you results showed times a bit over 2.5 hrs down to 2.1 hrs. That is less than 12 a day. I would expect your GTX970 should be a more powerful GPU than my GTX660.

No, running both SETI and

No, running both SETI and MilkyWay tasks too. I assumed equivalent runtimes based on the thread I mentioned where other users were running concurrent tasks and projects too on the same cards.

I had a problem like that

I had a problem like that when BRP5 first came out and my BRP4 tasks slowed down. I started only running BRP5 and it sped up. Try running wo MilkyWay and Seti and see if things speedup and your run times stabilize.

I'm not coming up with those

I'm not coming up with those numbers. I averaged the 8 completed 1.57 task times against 8 1.52 task times and the new 1.57 app is coming out 3.5% slower or about 300 seconds slower. Unless you meant exactly the reverse of what you stated. 2.5 hrs for the 1.57 app versus 2.1 hours for the 1.52 app. The tasks were run in the same conditions, that is the same mix for both 1.52 and 1.57 apps.

Well that's consistent with

Well that's consistent with what I found.
I misinterpreted what you said.
I've seen absolutely no improvement in processing times for the new 1.57 app versus the old 1.52 app.
I thought you were saying you were getting the same results.
I still think you should try running the BRP6 1.57 apps solo and see what you get.
