Unsure if the memory

Unsure if the memory overclock is now unstable on the 970's. 12 work units with validate errors on my machines...ouch. I will have to check once I have access to the PC later today. This app does stress the cards quite a bit more than cuda32

I've just had 2 inconclusives with 1.57 without any overclock:-/
plus 1 earlier with overclock..

But between those a couple have validated..

And 1.57 is seemingly slower than 1.56... when running single instance on GTX980's..
I'm now running 2x per gpu... will have to see if anything else shows up.
Problem is with the inconclusives, they haven't gone out to a 3rd party..
So who knows if they will actually validate, wingman also inconc results..

Cheers,

I only have one *invalid* so

I only have one *invalid* so far on my 660Ti SC card of the first 12

All of mine are OC'd or SC'd Ti's

Hi Magic,

Just been having a dekko at my inconclusivs , seems that the servers are sending tasks to a mix of app versions.. some of my wingmen were using 1.52 others 1.56 and I'm using 1.57:-) Still there have been some validated:-)

I'm keeping an eye on temps my GTX980's were a bit high 70C on dev0 but a lot lower on dev1 only 56C.. Cpu temps ok sub 30C core.

But 1 GPU running at 70C decided me to cut the OC to see if it made any diff

But due to an other project having its WU shoved onto both my GPU's along with the E@H WU I'm not sure which resulted in temps being 6C cooler:-/ Running 2 diff project WU on each GPU may well have caused the temp drop to better levels,
so the oc is going back on for the next run:-)

Cheers,

I just had my first run of

I just had my first run of 1.56 on my GTX660 all 3 validated and they took 4 hrs each running 3 at a time, rather than nearly 5 hrs. This is what I bought that card for over 2 yrs ago. If this continues I'm a happy camper.

Hi Cliff,

Yeah where I live this is the hottest time of year so during the day the GeForce temps tend to rise.

But I keep most of them running since the hottest the 660Ti got so far was 70C and the two 550Ti's stayed under 70C and the one 650Ti I have running always runs cooler than the others even if it is sitting between them all.

Now my 560Ti does run hot if it is a hot day so a couple times I suspended the Einstein GPU's during the day and just let it run the vLHC X2 and one Atlas (it is a 3-core Phenom)

I only do that when the GeForce temp gets above 89C and most of the time its average temp is low 80's C and upper 70's when it runs these GPU X2 tasks along with the vLHC X2 but it is my fastest GPU card and in a few minutes gets to start running these v1.57 so I can't wait to see how they run.

Right now I still only have that one *invalid* task and 20 completes so hopefully the 560Ti will keep running the fastest with the new version.

One of these days I may replace the slower 550Ti with a 650Ti from my stash just because they seem to run cooler and close to the same speed.

But none of mine run as fast as your 980 and 970

Keep up the good work Cliff!

156 is showing a 19%

156 is showing a 19% improvement in run times on my GTX660 vs 152 and now everything is validating.

Well its been running at 28C in my computer den at night:-/ That's with additional mains fans running flat out..

I'm not happy with my 980's running at 70C let alone 70+ to 80.. Costalotta to get more:-)
The lower the temps the better I like it:-)

My 970 is running on rig 2, main rig is running 2x 980's , I managed to find a slimmer 980 that would fit ok, and it runs about 5C lower then the palit one.
As for speed, not sure the 1.57 offers much more than the 1.56 and those 'seemed' to take longer with each one done [single instance runs]
Anyway 2x on the palit seem to run at 1h 13min so far..

Side note @ temperature: with

Side note @ temperature: with modern nVidia GPUs you can easily tame them by lowering the power target. The GPU will take care of reducing clock speed and voltage. Speed drops a little, but you gain power efficiency due to the reduced voltage. That's a good idea of things are running too hot during summer, especially with the new app.

I have had 26 v1.56 and 1.57

I have had 26 v1.56 and 1.57 tasks validate, 7 in pending status and none inconclusive. I notice no diff in run times between the 2 although 1.57 may run a tad bit cooler.
