I finally got around to creating a profile today but there's some kind of glitch. When i try to create a profile with a picture attached it doesn't wanna work. I attach the pic like normal then click "create/edit profile" and the i'm brought to a blank page with this addy
http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/create_profile.php
I know its the correct destination but there's no "Profile saved" message, its a blank white page and the profile isn't created/saved.
When i create a profile without a pic attached i'm brought to that addy and see the normal "Profile saved" message.
So, the issue is with the attachment proccess.
I know its an Einstein issue because I've successfully created the same profile with the same pic for other projects. I've also tried using different images but get the same error.
Thought this should be brought to someones attention,
Andy

Please have another try and report.
I fixed picture upload at least for avatars a few minutes ago, it should work for profiles now as well.

It stopped working again.
I haven't been able to update mine for a few years now.
Seems odd that you even have to make the old members wait for months to get things like that avatar to be changed.[/url]

What precisely are you trying to do, and what (error message etc.) do you get / see?

Edit: As you may see, it worked for me.

The profile page tends to get cached in the web browser in some projects (e.g. CPDN beta), sometimes it helps to append some unused parameter to the URL in order to see the changes immediately.

@Bernd, you changed your Message Board avatar, not the profile one. Two different places to change a picture.
RE: @Bernd, you changed

Sorry, I'm not aware of anything else under the name "avatar" than what you mentioned as "Message Board Avatar". There is a profile "picture" that is unrelated to what I know as "avatar".
This is why I was asking for a description of the problem as precise as possible - I need to fully and precisely understand a problem before I am able to fix it.

Yes yours changed Bernd but you are probably also the one that makes these changes official so they wouldn't make you wait here.
That *Edit your profile* is back again today (it wasn't there last night and yeah I was logged in)
Now once again I did the change and here is a snapshot (btw that security code thing keeps changing from the nice one that is just numbers to that one with the bizarre text)
You will notice my avatar did not once again change to that picture.
Only difference today is it isn't telling me I have to wait to be approved.
RE: You will notice my

No it didn't. This picture is clearly visible in your profile. As I wrote, your "avatar" is something different than your profile picture. To change your (forum) avatar, edit your Community preferences.

Yeah I understand what you are saying but I try using that pic in my avatar on the proper page and over and over it is still the old pic.
I pick a pic using that *choose file* tab and then click *Click here to update preferences* and it just stays the same as it is now and once again it will say *no file chosen*
I know it isn't too large or anything.
Even tested it on my own website and it should work here
http://i59.servimg.com/u/f59/15/95/88/74/3123_s10.jpg
This should be simple.
I even tried to set it with NO avatar and then try to add the newer one.
(I actually can't believe it has been over a year now trying to just change that avatar)
I guess I give up......
It says this http://i59.servimg.com/u/f59/15/95/88/74/avatar10.png
But it did not change.
edit again: it now finally changed but that is not the pic file I used (guess I will just be *Lucas McCain*) for now
oh and that othe profile page pic still says *Your profile will be made visible to other people as soon as it has been approved by the project. This may take up to a few days.* when I look at it
