RE: I vote for Lee Van

I vote for Lee Van Cleef, my favorite arch nemesis in westerns eg. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I believe Tuco ( Eli Wallach ) died earlier this year ....

Cheers, Mike.

Looks like Lee Van Cleef gets votes from both of us

I get to see all of his westerns on the Encore Westerns channel

(before the Pacquiao fight tonight I am watching *The Adventures of Superman* 1953 on MeTV)

Sorry for keeping you all

Sorry for keeping you all waiting :/ There was a rebellion in Bedford that needed quelling :) *Pour bucket of water over flaming crows and confiscate Mike's stones* I see the singevalet's been... *apply tingsalvee to crows then make diary entry about being reeeeeeeeeeally busy for next three lifetimes (and rest of this one too)*

So... When's the festival...? ;)

Okay... what's been going on whilst I was away... :)

@tbret - yes... you're right. Alexander Graham Bell would indeed be the "damned idiot" responsible for TL being woken up. Awwww... :) *misty-eyed smile* That's so SWEET! You've spent all this time looking into that for him :) Here... have a twinkly star! :) As for Freeman Dyson - no... I'm afraid not :( The winds' relevance is on a slightly grander scale than shoving something around a carpet on one ball and listening to it roar. But a VERY nice display of rudimentary joined up thinking which I hope everyone has taken note of :) *Look at everyone and note down the ones not taking down notes* WELL DONE!! :) Here... have a twinkly star :)

(Lee Van Cleef was one of my favorites)

*look round room suspiciously* So :) you think you can read my thoughts eh Magic...? *wrap head in tinfoil to jam Magic's radar* I'm afraid you're not getting the answer that easily... *some time later wrap duvet round tinfoil to muffle fruits of Bob Carver's engineering* Sorry. No :( but a good effort :)

Blimey, I see Einstein has been well and truly "Annietted" then :-))) I wondered where she had sidled off too. Just keep off the pavements lads and you'll be fine!

Chris! It's you :) This... *big sweeping gesture* is not what it looks. I have responsibilities now, and I wasn't myself. I was shocked and dazed after having problems getting in the doors at seti and then...

...suffered a brainwave that was suspiciously like a milkshake and accidentally won something. Now... I have powers untold!! and everyone's suffering the consequences MWAH HAH HA :))))

@Mike :) Pavemince - (sometimes run parallel to an entirely different universe across the same road) Pavemince are where things explode (a London speciality) and which get marginally less safe when stepped off of - unless into heavy traffic - where a quick step off prior to an orderly panic-stricken dash could leave you careering one footed in a somewhat haphazard frenzy lodged in a freshly squished squirrel :/ This, incidentally, can REALLY put a dent in your mood :(

Okay... so where are we?

@Mikey: Is this the kind of thing you mean?

Just off the top of my head... Traps might work! :)

(apologies for facetiousness to all victims of holes :))

Thanks for the link robl! I've long had a fascination with termite mounds and anthills etc :) Always KNEW they were art! :) *go and tell everyone who said the ant hill in the carpet was NOT art, that it was*

Hi Bill :) Nice to see you. Oh look, TL's also popped in for a win :) And David too :)

To ensure wits continue to degrade at about the speed they have during the previous few days... (you were right Mike... I AM a caring teacher!! :)))))) Today's choice of projects are:
1. Search the thread for where Mikey recently holidayed... and then go west as many times as you are told to... then come back and tell me where you ended up :) OR;
2. Knowing how much scientists like graphs... I've made you one to study :) It's a data plot of ALL the clues you've got so far!

I lost the key somewhere between here and Bedford :/ but I'm sure I'll remember which colour referred to what eventually :) And to guard against confusion for those looking at it from the other side - I've labelled the fields :)

edit:... although the hole might look like a greeting... :/

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

*borrow word from David*

*borrow word from David* Apropos my previous post - the Data graph shows the clue's you have been given, not the ones you have got - which is not a lot :) I would have prepared one for the latter but it would have been... quite blank, like your faces :) Also, the graph does not show the raccoon... to which I say this...

:))))))) The National Softball Association doesn't scare me! They saw me play netball at school. And then they saw me play rounders. They've never stopped running since :) Nor have my teammates.

And if you mean that other lot - they stop taking you seriously as soon as you spend your life with four inches of string dangling from your mouth... but you Magic... you clearly are no ordinary human... I will have to keep a very closed eye on you I think :)

Oh yes... very good... I can hear the snorts and chortles rippling through Einstein... I can recognise an Anniethilated Anniet when I see one... and the exceptional skill with which it was done... *secretly admire exceptional skill* ... You don't know that I'm not rolling one of those... whatjermacallits... around my carpet right now in a minitiarised prototype form whilst waiting for a patent...

I'm going to go away to lick my wounds now... *start unwrapping tongue from round head* I may be awhile... :)

:))))))

Hi Bill! Yes I think I

Hi Bill! Yes I think I remember you from then, I joined there in 2008. Haven't been here for a while as I spread myself around other projects for a bit, then eased off when my team got the billion. But Seti is lacking work at the moment so I've popped back. Problem here years ago was that I only had P4 based computers that wouldn't really hack Einstein units, but I've got a couple of Quad based rigs now so it is a bit faster.

Actually I feel quite comfy here so I may stay a while :-)

Hi Annie, I see you are firing on all 6 cylinders and wreaking your particular brand of organised havoc :-

! went out to find myself once, but I got back before I returned and nobody asked me to wait.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Why do doctors have to practice?

Hmmm ..... either : -

Hmmm ..... either :

- Maurits Cornelis Escher, on a good day.

- Richard Feynman, on a middling day.

- Rene Descartes, on a bad day.

- or me on a golf course, any day. [ the blue dots are where I aimed, orange dots where I got ]

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) DownUnda we have animals plus random crap on our golf links all the time. Some of them are players !

( edit ) Another neologism ( with apologies to cats ) : Annietastrophe.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

I was thinking atoms and

I was thinking atoms and Uranium 235, and I have absolutely no idea why. Then I thought it was a photo of an old "Etch a Sketch", then I thought nah, it must be Apples latest iPad, yay cracked it! but then I realised it was too sophisticated for that. But of course it then occurred to me to actually read the words. Right field, left field, nope. Cow in field where it did you know what, possibly, as it says animals and crap.

Then Heisenberg and a question mark, BINGO! He was somewhat famous for being uncertain about anything if I recall, so that is a map of where particles might be if only we were sure of it, or something like that.

Can I go and lie down in a dark room please .....

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Yes Anniet those are examples

Yes Anniet those are examples of some of the ways people drive in Florida, and everywhere else too! There ARE of course LOTS of very capable drivers, but as usual the bad ones get all the attention.

I am sitting here waiting for the final F1 race of the season, the pre-race starts at 7am and then the actual race will start for me at 8am, but it will be 5pm in Abu Dhabi. They start the race at dusk and finish under the lights about 2 hours later. The course is 3.5 miles long and has 32 turns and 1 straight section where the cars easily hit over 320kph on it. One of the Mercedes Team drivers will be the World Champion after todays race, but of course it won't be easy as the two are racing each other for the title. A Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel, won the last 4 Championships in a row, but this year Mercedes just has a MUCH better engine package and is the class of the field. 20 cars will be on track today and all would like to do well as a jump start for next season. Several drivers will be switching teams again this season, with the above mentioned Sebastian Vettel going to Ferrari next season.
