Thinking of Farty Towels :

Thinking of Farty Towels : IIRC John Cleese explained why there was only one series and shortish too ( by today's standards ). Firstly he was exhausted, and secondly he didn't really like sequels for their own sake. In retrospect I think that was an outstanding decision, as rather like having two Mona Lisa's doesn't really work. I think my biggest ROFL was Fawlty's comment 'did Franco have them all shot ?' when discussing rats in Barcelona. But there are ever so many close to that eg. "Next contestant, Mrs. Sybil Fawlty from Torquay. Specialist subject - the bleeding obvious." I find it amazing that one can watch it so many times - knowing well in advance the punchlines - and it is still genuinely funny in one's heart of hearts. But all Monty P followers know this to be true to the bone.

I saw John at a live show a few years ago - unofficially named his 'alimony tour' and he frankly explained that he had to come up with about $20M - and he was so engaging and brilliant with the audience. It was sold out online in under 45 minutes for 6 night shows, but we managed & probably by milliseconds to get tickets. A night to never forget. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) I did not mind in the least that I spent an actual metric tonne of money ( ie. somewhat over a grand $AUD ) for the whole family and two friends. In seats way up the back. A decent slab of overtime/after-hours to later catch that up, but whatever ! :_0

When Cleese was filming

When Cleese was filming Fawlty Towers he was actually playing with his estranged and previous wife Connie Booth (Polly) whom he divorced in 1978.

Smile muscles One persons smile is another persons smirk :-) <---- oooops I did it as well ....

I am reminded of the last scene of the MASH two-parter wherein Hawkeye and Margaret get lost behind enemy lines and spend a night of passion in an abandoned hut. The scene consists mainly of a round robin of people smiling, then denying it when asked why. The episode should be coming up soon on MeTV; if it does, I'll see if I can record the scene.

I was right, it was coming up soon. Tonight, to be precise. Enjoy. (It's 8 MB, so don't enjoy if you have a slow connection.)

I'm guessing this is some sort of rural ointment like Rawleigh's Man & Beast, a legend in our Outback. Generations of Aussie Bleeders have either sworn by it or sworn at it. Some buy this tincture by the ton ! It even cures The Hobble-Gobbles, Itchy Tharg, Prideful Gnats, Ephemeral Ecstasy or

One can even use it as a firelighter or if you've run out of C4 on the weekend. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) I found that my Ecleckles were being shown on a site that was spoofing KFC, and I think they were having a crack at GM foods too. A few were probably carried over the fence during a storm. With a triple wing set they would glide well and the dual undercarriage adds to bounce. I may sue for infringement of DNA copyright. Stiff competition then... worrying... Over in the alien listening place... there is a locale where evil is wrought upon words and the sanity of all who enter there is left... jumbled :)

"They" tried to claim the word was: evangelist... but already one other than I has used... and recognised... tingsalvee... for what it could be... *megalomanic smile* And once I have dropped these casually into enough conversations, it is only a matter of time before singevalet and genetivals grace the pages of the Oxford English Dictionary too... Now all I need do is find the rare ting plant... and give it a good mashing... and regret that I mentioned the Himalayas, when under the trampoline might have been an easier harvesting ground... :/

May you rule long and roam free in wild derangement midst your bouncing dual undercarriages :) sueing to the left and to the right as you go completely mad :)
