RE taps large enough for toes (whatever the length of their owners)...
Where I originated from... tap apertures were more accomodating for innovative digital explorations I think... They also on occasion needed to account for some... infrastructure issues so that fish and frogs (too small to escape the vortex of doom) wouldn't get wedged en route into your bath but could instead enjoy the freedom of it. That became much less of a problem the further south we lived, but the taps still stayed about the same size... You'd be hard pressed getting even a finger wedged into a British tap though *slight air of disappointment*...
