I too have had many ghost workunits from 4.44. My system was spinning one processor on boinc.exe while the other was actually doing legitimate work on CPDN. It seems as though I cannot get any work from any project without resetting everything, and this system is working on all of the projects available for BOINC, including a couple of alpha projects, so it's not like there isn't anything out there for it to do. I'm desperately awaiting a fixed version that will not require so much babysitting to keep busy.
I received 16 ghosts last night with BOINC 4.4. I also received 20 ghosts on Predictor. These exceeded my daily quota for both projects. I spent the day in the penalty box, but I the projects are sending WUs to me again.

I have yet to receive a "ghost" with 4.44. 4.43 was a different issue. There was a specific fix added to 4.44 to eliminate the ghost downloads.

Are you sure you all are running 4.44?
Yes. I've been running it for over 2 weeks now, and it has definitely required a great deal of user interaction to keep it from totally running dry even though my system is attached to 8 different projects of varying resource shares. There is without a doubt several serious bugs in the client that must be resolved to get it back to the unattended state that it was in 4.25. And I'm fully aware of the new scheduling scheme, it just doesn't pull work when it should, leaving one processor of a dual processor workstation idle (or should I say, processing boinc.exe at 100%). I finally got an Einstein work unit this morning, but that is after I set my work cache up for 3 days so that I don't let it run dry again, but it still doesn't grab more than one workunit in addition to the CPDN one that the other processor has been working on solely for the last week.

Ahhhh you have a Dual CPU.. That is a known BOINC bug that is supposed to be fixed in 4.45 too..

I have found that it occurs on more than one project on 4.44, so I'm hoping that it is resolved in 4.45 because I suspect that the ghost workunit issue is somehow preventing me from getting legitimate work from Einstein, Lattice, Seti, and Predictor, which all have had work in the last week, but I've not been able to get hardly any to pull down. If it weren't for CPDN, I would have had no reason to run BOINC at all.
