My list of task messages from my computer to the scheduler is way way too long and I think it takes too much memory to keep it all on. Am I wrong?
Is the only way to get rid of them is to shut down the computer and restart it? It goes back to 1/17 and there's close to 6000 entries. Or, can I just use the side menu on the Desktop (local host) and click the Reset button? Or do something else under "Commands"?
I hate to shut me down to keep it short...thanks..

If you're referring to Boinc's event log it's not sent to the server/scheduler.
If you want to clear it a full shutdown and restart of Boinc should do the trick.
One can take control of how many lines are displayed via a option in cc_config.xml.
If you haven't created one already the do so with Notepad and save it to Boinc's data directory as cc_config.xml and NOT cc_config.xml.txt, in the file enter this:
[pre]
N
[/pre]
Where N = The number of lines to display, default is 2000. This option is available for Boinc 7.1.2 and newer.
If you already have a cc_config.xml then just add N in the option block.
As to memory usage, on my computer after ~22 days uptime Boinc uses ~40 MB and Boinc Manager ~12 MB of RAM.

It's ready for the glue factory, 6.8.44....I'm lucky it runs - and haven't had any errors since it started crunching.
I don't see any point in saving it to Notepad or any other pad. Who would want it and why?
Thanks for the info, but the easy way out is to pause, shutdown, and restart. Nature has taken care of this so far with lightening, power stoppages, etc. I hate to ask such stupid questions, but hate tampering with it when it's doing good work (many not much, but good, all the same) ;)

No, no need to try to save it.
To keep it simple, the size of the log should not be a problem, and all I wrote about trying to make it smaller would require you to update to a more recent release of Boinc. It might be preferable to not mess with it at all.
Sorry for not digging deeper and check the version of Boinc you were using and giving advice that did not apply to your situation and possibly confusing the situation.
At the time of this post you have 2 S6CasA task in progress and on my computer one of the same type of task use ~250 MB each so two of them would be ~500 MB of RAM, adding Boinc's RAM usage would probably be about 50-60 MB more so a total of less than 600 MB of RAM used.
According to your hosts info here on the website it has 1 GB or 1024 MB of RAM so that leaves at least 400 MB for Windows and all other programs running.
It should be fine so long as you don't try to do heavy video or image editing on the machine.
Reducing the size of the log might save you a few MB of RAM so I would consider it not worth the hassle.

6.8.44 is not a version of BOINC that was ever available for download from the Berkeley website.
Instead one was the Progress thru Processors version, available through the Facebook page of the same name. The PtP version has been updated to 7.0.73 for Windows, 7.0.77 for MacOSX.
Another is the Charity Engine version. The CE version has since been updated to 7.0.78 for Windows, 7.0.77 for MacOSX.
Ofcourse, for the cc_config.xml entry it doesn't matter. However, if you have not set a maximum amount of lines, BOINC Manager will automatically truncate this at 2,000 lines. The log is always written to the stdoutdae.txt file, in the data directory. The maximum file size for this file is set to a massive 2 megabytes.

I briefly looked at the website and it says that any computer can be made to make money for charity, etc., and I think they mean you can use it to send emails asking for contributions, and maybe win some money too.
I like Seti/Einstein@Home, and doing it for free.
I don't think in my lifetime we will reach any ET's (persomally I think they are already here and have been before we were), but we do keep track of asteroids, comets, black holes, defense, possibly from an alien invasion (like we could beat them, oh sure)...and it makes me feel useful in a small way.
Thanks for all your responses.
This used $139.00 plus tax computer has served me well and I'm gonna stay with it as long as they let me...
