The workunit has stalled at 99.038% complete. I restarted the BOINC Manager to see what would happen, and that did nothing. I then tried restarting the computer. The only thing that happens with both attempts is the elapsed time and time remaining reset to a certain point (156:04:54 and 02:24:04 respectively). The application is Gamma-ray pulsar search #3 1.09 and the workunit is LATeah0052C_96.0_1664_-4.69e-10. It has been this way for over 24 hours, but since it is near the end and another workunit has downloaded, I suspended the troubled one and am running the new one while waiting to see if anyone might have a solution.

Workunit Stalled Near Completion
)
Read this message from Bernd on the release of the Gamma-ray pulsar search #3 and in particular then note about an "improved coherent (follow-up) stage" without checkpoints at the end of the tasks.
My advise is to let it run for at least on hour, maybe more and it should finish normally.

The completion numbers are simple guesstimates and are based on a HUGE number of things, like are you using the pc as it crunches, is the screen active, are you moving the mouse around, pressing keys, etc, etc, etc. Each and every one of those things, and a ton more, all effect how much processing power is available to your cpu at any given moment. Remember everything that is show on your screen also has to be processed by your cpu as you do not have a stand alone gpu in the machine. As Holmis said give it a chance and see what happens.

I had some grp #3 that ran > 2 hrs without any visible progress.
Keep runnung them!
The deadline for it is Feb.

The deadline for it is Feb. 8, so I'll let it run and see what happens. The computer I have is almost 12 years old (AMD 1.2 Duron), so the amount of time it takes could be a lot longer than expected. Thanks for your input. Holmis' post makes me realize it wouldn't hurt to check the message boards more often to keep up on things.

Considering the age and speed of the computer and that the FGRP3 tasks don't checkpoint in the final stage it might be best for you to edit your Einstein prefs and opt not to receive any more FGRP3 tasks. The S6CasA task might suite your computer better.
Or just ask and we who frequent the boards will guide you to the right info! =)

Success! It completed at just under 187 hours. Patience is a good thing, though asking questions when one is unsure has its place. Once again, thanks.
