I've seen Keith post quite a few times about Dennis. It intrigued me enough to go back and look at old messages Dennis had posted. I was quite perplexed to find that the very last message he posted here said:-

I've a mind to restore the thread - for old times sake and because Dennis may have appreciated it - with only the problem posts hidden. I don't know whether that would be a good idea or a bad one. I think some of the original contributors may be still active - probably a lot aren't. Perhaps any of you with a strong opinion about the appropriateness of that action might like to voice it.

Personally I would say no partly because anyone responding to any of the comments may never get a response from the OP. The thread has been closed for a long time and to bring it back might not be helpful. I met Dennis several times and he was the kind of guy who once his mind was made up stuck with his decision, only changing it after receiving new info that caused him to rethink his original decision. He, I and several others all left Seti at the same time, after all being Mods over there, and to then see the same people elsewhere doing the same thing again did not make any of us happy campers. Old wounds rarely heal when they are reopened. Dennis was a good friend and is now gone, to reopen the old threads may not actually be helpful. This is MY opinion and it is worth what it is worth.

With the help of the authorities in Las Vegas I arranged for his cremation and we tried to find any relatives he might have had with no success. I have retained his ashes all of this time in hopes of getting permission for interment in a military cemetery. I apologize to all of you for not sending some of his ashes as a memento.
Both Keith and I attempted to get the necessary data about his military service as a Marine with an equal lack of success. We always suspected that Dennis was not simply a Marine, that he served this country in another, more classified, service.
Because Dennis always enjoyed his visits with us, Susan, and I decided that Dennis would be pleased to be "pushing up the daisies" in our garden. We have planted a number of trees and shrubs over the past years, as well as bulbs, and Dennis is helping them to grow and thrive. Every new plant has at it's roots some Dog Bytes.
I still miss my friend, but I remember him every time I look out a window at a tree or flower in my garden.
The controversial threads would be nice to read again if it were possible. The humor, wit, righteous anger and refusal to suffer fools gladly--or at all defined him for all of us. He would be so pleased to see how our screwed up society is finally coming to the realization that to be gay is merely to be human.
