I run boinc on Win7 and even though I have 'power off after 15min' specified in the windows power management settings, my monitors won't shut off when boinc is running. They stay constantly on with the boinc screensaver displayed. Has anyone else run into this? I'd like to shut the monitors down to save at least a little bit of power when the box is crunching..

Monitor power

The easiest way to do that is to actually turn the screen of using the on/off button on it. I do it that way.
If you want to use the screen saver then look in it's settings and be aware that the "power off after 15 min" is counted from when the Boinc screen saver is set to go blank.
So, screen saver set to start after 10 min, Boinc screen saver set to blank after 10 min and power off after 15 min would turn off the screen 35 minutes after the last user input.
At least I think this is the way it works, there was some discussion recently with the Boinc developers on how this works but I believe nothing will change anytime soon.
IMHO just go to your Windows

IMHO just go to your Windows Screensaver settings and set to "none", that will not only go the screen to go blank (power saving mode) after your desired time, but also save much more power by having no 3D Graphics displayed during the time.
The way I have always done it

The way I have always done it (since I never use a screensaver) is mine are all set to "blank" after 1 minute but to go along with that is I just turn the monitors on/off when I want to use any of them to check the usual things from Boinc to emails and just turn the monitor back off and since I have 7 laptops I only use 2 monitors these days and just plug the monitor in to the box I happen to need to check.
It takes seconds to do and I have done it just for loading new tasks on each one when needed so many times I can do it in the dark.
Always helps with the light bill especially running the GPU's 24/7

I have to agree with that.

In my house the monitors will never get turned off if I rely on manually pushing buttons. :) I ended up just disabling the screensaver and now they power off by themselves just fine. Thanks,
I do exactly the same. I use

I do exactly the same. I use no screensaver, goes to blank screen with Grid pic, but by that time, I'v already turned off the monitor.
I turn it off everytime I leave the computer, so it's off much longer than on. And I close everything but Einstein when I leave.
