I upgraded a computer from FC 17 to Ubuntu 12.04.03. I installed the driver support for a RADEON 5450. This machine had only supported Rosetta but now I thought I could crunch GPU WUs from E&H and support CPU WUs for Rosetta. Boinc downloaded WUs for both E&H and Rosetta, but there were no E&H GPU based WUs. I looked in the boinc log and it says "NO USABLE GPUs FOUND" so have I fubar'd the install with respect to Radeon drivers? Or is there something else?
TIA

For Linux GPU recognition fixes have a read of this thread:

Note, it is a Boinc problem, not an Einstein problem.

Claggy,
Thanks for the response. I tried what was suggested in the link you provided and after about 3+ hours of getting no where I decided to replace the old Radeon with a NVIDIA 650 Ti (which I bought at Best Buy on SALE!!!!). It is a half card. Its now in place and crunching GPU WUs. The NVIDIA drivers installed in 3 steps. Sometimes it is better to take the path of least resistance. I share this computer with Rosetta and with E&H so E&H will utilize the GPUs while Rosetta will occupy the CPUs.
Again thanks for the info.

as a quick aside: I had installed the NVIDIA 319 drivers and it turned out these are creating a large problem for "crunchers". I had to fall back to the 304 drivers. With the 319 drivers jobs were taking up to 4 days to complete. With the 304 drivers those same "type" of jobs are now around 6 hours.
Hopefully this "followup" will help someone else.
Yes, that's a known issue

Yes, that's a known issue under linux and is apparently still not fixed in current drivers. 313 and 314 drivers are still OK too.
Edit: a bit more specific.
