Is there somewhere that we can check up how the Androids are doing?

I'd find it interesting to see things such as the % of each device being used; how much they are contributing compared to the pc's; those types of things.

There's a bit at external stats sites, like BOINCStats.

Thanks, that helps a bit! I looked there first, but it isn't the easiest to navigate :) Now if they can just break it down to device too...

going into task manager on my GALAXY player 4.2 (YP-GI1) shows 4 to 6% CPU usage in BOINC.
is this normal?

Hi!

I would think that this is the CPU load caused by BOINC itself (GUI and potentially also the background BOINC "core client"), but does not include the load from the science app(s). There are tools that will show you the combined load on the CPUs from whatever process (so 100% if a core is fully loaded), that might be better suited to check utilization with and without BOINC running.

Cheers

sound reasoning. i'll look into finding an app that will show the load on the CPU.
thanks for the idea :D

installed CPU-Z and confirmed

installed CPU-Z and confirmed 100% CPU load. also showed battery temp going up to 40°C.
taking the battery cover off and laying face down dropped the temp to 37°C.

thanks again Bikeman, and crunch on!

Samsung Galaxy Ace - ..... although other apps run on the SD card.

Ah. If it works on an Ace then a Samsung Galaxy Note II will do fine.

Cheers, Mike.

LOL Mike, does it actually work though? I have had a glitch where the WU was stuck at 0.4% for the last 24hrs and kept cycling back to approx 18 minutes of elapsed time. Think I know what I did wrong though and following reboot of the phone it is now incrementing correctly.

I will post success or failure of this wu for others info.

By the way - what a gr8 idea to get Eintsein working on Android, but you lot do know how to cause yourselves a lot of work and grief.

Thanks for all the efforts.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.

It's not the speed, but the quality - Until I get a faster computer

Downloaded BOINC Android on

Downloaded BOINC Android on Motorola RAZR M, installed fine and has completed one einstein@home work unit.
Do not see any way to force report of work unit waiting.
WiFi is on and running. Will BOINC manager to report the completed work unit automatically?

Hi I downloaded the app to

Hi

I downloaded the app to my Samsung Galaxy III yesterday.

I have so far completed two tasks that both took around 10 hours.

I changed the settings so that the app continued working when it was disconnected from the power supply and it continued working until the battery dropped below 90% but soon started again when I plugged it back into a power source.

I notice that whenever I run another app the BOINC app is suspended but restarts soon after I stop using the other app.

I was a bit worried when the first tasks results were not uploaded to BOINC but this upload was carried out when my third task was downloaded.

Excellent app.

Regards

Well I haven't bought the gadget yet ... so I don't know. Hope Springs Eternal ! :-)

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal
