I recently noticed a problem where my computer would be completely hung. Mouse wont move, and Ctrl-Alt-Del wont work either. The only solution at that point is to power down. This has been happening 3-4 times a day.

Since this always happened when I was away, I considered BOINC and Einstien@Home. With a bit of research, I have been able to narrow it down to GPU processing, By suspending GPU processing, I have gone several days without a problem.

I have not seen any issues in any logs when this hap happened.

Short of leaving the GPU processing suspended or disabled, does anyone have any ideas how I can resolve this?

My computer is an HP HPE-450t, running Windows 7 Professional. The graphics card is an NVidia GeForce 315,and the drivers are up to date.

I think perhaps the 315 GPU isn't up to the task at Einstein. Here's some of the error messages:

[19:39:20][2996][ERROR] Error freeing CUDA HS device memory (error: 999)
[19:39:20][2996][ERROR] Demodulation failed (error: 1010)!

[04:59:37][4504][ERROR] Error during CUDA device->host HS data transfer (error: 999)
[04:59:37][4504][ERROR] Demodulation failed (error: 1008)!

[11:03:02][2856][ERROR] Error during CUDA device->host HS data transfer (error: 999)

On the other hand your GT 650M seems to be doing a fine job.

A GT315 is a re-branded

A GT315 is a re-branded GT220; those messages could indicate some kind of hardware problem. Maybe check the temperatures, GPU fan, CPU fan, card seated ok, etc?

I have checked the GPU temp.

I have checked the GPU temp. It never seems to get too high. And the card is seated ok. I'm wondering if a new graphics card may be in my future :(

Thanks for the help!

Don't be sad, change is inevitable. In this case for a very small amount of money you can get a GPU that is still many times faster than your 315.
