OK I have a old dell gx620 (stop laughing it was free and it's what I have not want) Pent D 3.6ghz,win 8 Pro 64,I put in a used intel 160 gig ssd sata11,and got ahold of a gt640oem (has 1 g gddr5).The Gpu core clock is954mhz,mem clock is 1250mhz.With 2xBRP5 the load is <90% ,mem usage is below 455,and tem stays below 51c. BRPP4 2x was 5700 but used more mem and abut 94% load so I did not think it could handle it. Before I type in the magic .33 into the gpu setting I would like to get some benefit from someone with a lot more tech savy then myself.Thanx in advance.

Can my GPU run 3x BRP5 ?
)
Hi i'm running 3 brp4's now on a gtx650 and takes about 23hrs per unit temp is 47 and runs 99% for the Arecibo type aprox 3.5hrs
I have also run the same settings on my gt220 and approx. same times
RE: OK I have a old dell

The only hard limit is the amount of RAM available on the card, fill it up and things start going south...
The only way to know if your system can handle 3 at a time is to try, but do so when you have the chance to observe that it seems fine or back off to 2 again.
I would set no new tasks for a while before making the change so that you can get new tasks right after doing it. Then observe load, temp and mem usage. If things seem fine let it run for a while and compare the times from when you ran x2.
Lastly, report your findings so other might benefit!
THANX. The one thing I forgot
)
THANX. The one thing I forgot to post was the ram its 4g.Well its been several hours and all seams stable. Thanx for the info. I'll come back with finished times.
OK GPU Avg 92%load Mem usage
)
OK GPU Avg 92%load Mem usage about 540mb temp 52.Times about 74000 gpu 19000 cpu all at 3x BRP5. THANX all. Rob
I think it's time to start

I think it's time to start putting some money aside and do my first build :)
The load looks good, GPU-RAM
)
The load looks good, GPU-RAM 540 MB used out of 1 GB leaves some room to spare so that's good too. As to the time at a quick glace there seem to be some benefit from running x3 compared to x2, something like ~55000s for x2 and then as you said ~74000s for x3, that would be 6 tasks in 148000s for x3 and 6 task in 165000s for x2 = quite the gain!
Well I had to come back
)
Well I had to come back because I wanted to post (Brag really) about my new rig. Its not way top end but is a vast improvement over the old one. Plus I got it for only 60% of the cost of the same new parts and its only 3.5 months old. For now I will keep both up.
Bragging is fine. Glad to

Bragging is fine. Glad to hear that you got a good $ deal - not all of us want to be on the leading/bleeding edge. Your success will encourage others! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...
