In September, the European Space Agency will begin the formal competition for its second "large" satellite mission, L2. The space-based gravitational-wave observatory eLISA (evolved Laser Interferometer Satellite Antenna) will be one of the contendors. There is a web site where members of the public can register their support for eLISA. This takes just a minute, and is an easy way for you to support future efforts to detect and study gravitational waves and gravitational-wave sources!

I just typed you a long response but had so many links open that I lost the response . It's on a wave in space, maybe eLISA will find it, I can't.
"{I hope my english isn´t too bad.)" As a matter of fact, it's too good. If you get tired of space travel, you could teach in America.
I read most of your two links (twice), found out that Athena's science is top notch for 5 years, and her parts are guaranteed for 10 years. If nothing hits her, turns her into ashes, or swallows her, she's going to do outstanding work with eLISA. Pity eLISA isn't complete yet.
Athena was born in New Norcia, Australia, where the author of the article said that all the houses were "disturbingly" (not sure of the word, lost the link) similar. And you are in Germany. (Sorry about a story I heard about our leader and your leader, couldn't be true, aw, skip it.).
I am going to keep reading till I understand many things better. One thing I learned of value on History2 TV channel is that our telescopes are not listening to noise, and was so releived to learn this because noise doesn't travel in a vacuum and I thought SETI ought to know better. I learned that the things we're studying are the waves that have been going thru space since the big bang, and what we do here is put all the pieces together so that the brains could see how waves have stretched, widened, curved, etc., and what might be the causes.
And eLISA will look like she was hijacked from Arecibo - radio telescope in space that gathers all it could, and Athena will be close enough to X-ray what she's got before the radiowaves weaken, which they do when they travel. They will both be looking for black holes and other big stuff, and I will be hoping the black hole isn't looking for an earthly snack...

Roberto Battiston, Head of Italian Space Agency, informs me that eLISA Pathfinder launch is foreseen about November 25 by a Vega Launcher built in Italy. He says that this launch will celebrate the 100 years of Einstein's General Relativity.

On the hand the online Q&A from the University of Florida was IMHO a complete disaster - badly organized, too many unanswered questions, fully unprofessional, in short a waste of time!

I have read on "Nature Physics" magazine of February 2 an article about Lisa Pathfinder. On the same issue there is an article about new efforts to measure the gravitational constant G (Newton's constant) with more accuracy. But I remember reading, probably on the ESA site, that Lisa Pathfinder might be capable of doing just that. Is this true?
