I am Corgi, a Dog; and this is my faithful sidekick Sothis, an Inspiron 8600. She's kicking workunit tuchus on SETI Classic, SETI BOINC (when Climate gives it room), Climate, Pirates (if there's ever work), ProteinPredictor (FINALLY) and now Einstein.
Although I'm a member of Team GasBuddy most places, my SETI belongs to my home-away-from-home, SFF Net.
It is great having so many new folks on board. Now all of you fill out your profiles and add pictures. The users of the day were starting to repeat.
I know the project team will never admit to it, but the real reason they expanded the project, is so that my ugly mug would never come up again as "user of the day" on the front page. In fact, I think the other participants demanded it. ;-)
Seriously, glad to have all of you on board. Like most boinc projects, it might take a little while for the credits to be validated, but they will flow, and the more participants, the quicker they are likely to get validated. Of course, we are all only here for the science.... right?
Just wanted to say howdy! I'm a long time distributed computing fan - but just started this project today. Climate Predicition is my main focus, but I participate in many distributed projects - boinc and non-boinc. I have started a team - Bird Conservation - here. Yes, even us "bird brains" think space exploration is cool :) Anyone want to join?
I'm running this program on six machines...crunch ...crunch.....crunch. Good luck to all!
The 4.13 has a serious bug that causes a lot of Results to fail with download errors, so in the near future we will limit the work we give out to clients which don't have this bug (>=4.14). As the 4.14 and 4.15 had other problems (esp. losing CPDN work) I suggest you upgrade to 4.16. Make sure to exit the current core client before upgrading.
Greetings to all, both familiar faces and new ones, and of each there are many. Good to see you all and good to be here (and it feels like i should say finally).
Looks like i'm providing the first signs of Aussie presence here on the boards but i'm sure i wont be without compatriot support for too long.
So now i go and i throw my measly 17.7% of my P4 3.2GHz into a new space venture. Also since i am currently doing testing with this project i figured i may as well try out the development versions of BOINC so i am running v4.59. Pretty cool, though it was a little trickier to install.
One more thing, is there any reason now to continue running Pirates@Home?
