Hi,
is there a way to avoid that boinc downloads new work but on the other hand finishes the actual wu? When I detach from projects the actual work is canceled, too. I want to download single wus from time to time, e.g. if the server of the other project I'm running is down.
Thanks for an answer in advance,
Axel

the boinc 4.37 developmental client has a "no new work" button on it...so you can crunch what you've got and not add any more wu's until you want to...warning...4.37 still has a few bugs in it...but i'm sure they'll get the bugs fixed and this new feature will be a regular part of the boinc client...i used the "no new work button" tonight...to stop my machine from crying for seti work that simply wasn't available.

BoincView will also let you specify no new work for a project, and you don't have to run a developmental version of Boinc.

Hi, thanks for your answers.

Hi,
thanks for your answers. I use BoincView, but I didn't find out yet, how to do 'no new work for project'. I'll try tonight...
Do you have any hints?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

One of those icons on top. Think it's the one with the cross over it.
Just hover your mouse over it to see the bubble-info.

edit: Select the Project-tab first, then the appropriate line in there.

Boincview can only do this if it is connected to a CoreClient tha supports the function, which is v4.2 and above I believe.

The icon is the the Greyed out Boinc "B" with the red "x" through it. On v1.0.4 it's the icon third from the right on the tool bar.

The new developer Core clients 4.35,4.37 & I assume the 4.38

Have button to allow the project not to collect new work I have tested this feature and it does appear to work thou you still seem to get the ready to report statement for awhile.

You can always use the "old

You can always use the "old fashioned" method. Set your preferences to use a very low amount of disk space. When your box next asks for work, the project will respond with "sorry - not enough disk space" and not send you any. Works with all cores.
