I've been noticing in the past few days that the tasks which are downloaded are completed in a matter of a couple of hours. I don't run it on a particularly fast computer and neither does the it crunch 24x7. Usually it takes a few days of many-hour usage for me to request for new data. So, what did I miss?

Why are Recent Tasks Short?

Einstein@home is not just one project doing one search, there are actually 3 different searches being run at the moment. They search for different things and use different programs to do this and different data. Because of this the tasks take a different amount of time to complete.
If you go to your account and edit the "Einstein@home preferences" then you can choose to opt in or out of the different searches.

1. The "main project" and search is the one that's looking for gravity waves and this search is called "Gravitational Wave S6 LineVeto search (extended)". This project can only be run on a CPU. When looking at your completed tasks you don't seem to have run this one recently.

2. "Gamma-ray pulsar search #2" is another CPU-only search. Your completed tasks tells me this is the search you have helped with in the last few days.

3. "Binary Radio Pulsar Search" is the third search effort run here on Einstein. This search can be run on both CPU and GPU (the GPU must support CUDA or OpenCL). When run on a GPU the tasks complete much faster than when run on a CPU. The oldest still visible task you have run was from this search and it was run on your CPU. Personally I have opted not to run this search on my CPU because my GPU is so much better at it.

To conclude this everything looks fine and you are processing task that are valid and given credit. Just keep on going! =)

Thanks for that. :) I wasn't worried that some had gone wrong but only wondering if I'd missed some change made to the way things were run (reduced size of the data chunks, for example).

To my knowledge there hasn't been any major changes that effect run times recently. The latest change of importance was that the BRP search change to compressed data instead of uncompressed, but that shouldn't effect runtime only the amount of data downloaded from the project,
