Hopefully the review is moving along and we will be able to show you all the Report Card soon. It may take a little while longer, though, because this is the first time they have contemplated "publishing" partial results in such form and they may have to sort out some broader issues.

IMHO, this helps a lot! Communication is a good thing, especially with one's collaborators, which I view myself as being along with all the other crunchers on this very interesting project.
Thank you for the information. I enjoy getting feed back from the project coordinators / dev team / etc. It really makes me feel like I am part of the project. Makes me wish I could actually do more "hands on" type of stuff.
I understand the science data and reports need to be vetted before release, and that takes time and is generally beyond anyone's control to accelerate. The potential for a "mishap" in releasing data early is always a legitimate concern.
We're just a bunch of eager and excitable participants, so even the smallest little bit of news is devoured with great appreciation. Not to mention it gives us all something to yack about for the next week, until the next tidbit is released. Lacking any scientific or technical news, you could probably just give us a weather report from the LIGO sites and that would still excite some of us.... or at least keep the complaints down.
Perhaps, since BOINC depends on public participation, Bruce and Dave should also discuss some "human factors" and/or "marketing" enhancements to future BOINC projects.... like having an intern or student working on the project provide the weekly progress update. Perhaps a monthly "on-line" seminar to educate the masses on frequently asked questions.
Either way, I can see the huge effort y'all are putting into the project and communicating with us in between (I know what it's like to be understaffed). That's good enough for me.

The reviewers have finished combing the "End of May" report, and Bruce is implementing their suggested tweaks (mostly clarifications). It should be publicly available pretty soon. We hope that future reports will come out more quickly, since this one is laying a lot of groundwork (like possible sources of gravitational waves) that won't need to be repeated when we report the results of future searches.
