Oscillating, consistently peaking CPU utilisation

Hello,

Please see the image.

Whether or not I'm working on my PC, CPU utilisation always follows this profile. This does not seem right.

CPU preferences are set to:
Suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 50%.
Use at most 75% of CPU time.

I can't see any of your pictures, but I assume that you see a pattern of three seconds full use of the CPU followed by a drop of one second.

If my assumption is correct, that's exactly how BOINC follows your setting of "Use at most 75% of CPU time".

That fits with the preference of use 75% of CPU time, what happens if you set it to use 100% of CPU time and 75% of CPUs?
