I'm getting no new tasks, Quota exceeded. Having seen this movie before, I checked my slots directory, and found \1 missing, so I immediately created it. Tried network communications again, samething, except when I checked my slots folders again, all of them except \0 were gone. I recreated all the required slots directories, but I'm still not getting new tasks.
Also, for some reason I am getting a lot of computation errors.
Thanks in advance for the help.

No tasks, Computation Errors

Stop fiddling with your slot directories, Boinc will create and remove them as it sees fit (with the correct permissions for the correct users)

RE: I'm getting no new

That simply means that your host has errored out enough tasks to have reduced the daily quota below the number it has already been assigned today. You will have to wait until after midnight UTC before you can start accessing tomorrows quota. If you keep erroring out tasks without successfully completing any, tomorrow's quota will soon be looking very shabby indeed!
I don't think you've been watching the right movie :-). You need to see the one where the hero belatedly discovers that blasting everything in sight can lead to collateral damage and be quite counter-productive!
All the failed tasks I looked at have this error message:-
6.10.58
Can't link input file
]]>
As Claggy says, only BOINC should be touching slot directories. Those directories are created by BOINC as needed, as a work area for a task. They are populated with links to the app and to the data file(s) needed for the task.
I'm guessing that the above message is a direct consequence of your fiddling with these directories. The state file actually contains info about which task is in which slot. If you go randomly creating and/or removing slots, it's little wonder that mayhem may ensue. If you create a slot that's not actually in the state file, I'm not surprised that BOINC would remove it.
Cheers,
Gary.

I've been away all week. Just started up again, and I have the same problem,
See log file below. In my slots folder, all I have is "0".

Try running the the Boinc 6.10.58 Installer again, select repair and do a repair installation, this might fix the permissions problem,

I could not find the installer for the original version. I did try installing the current version of BOINC, but I still get no work. In my slots directory, I still have only "0".

Since you're returning only
)
Since you're returning only erroneous work anyway, and you only seem to be active for Einstein, you can better uninstall BOINC, remove the BOINC Data directory, reinstall BOINC and start it 'fresh'.
Whatever it is you wrecked by manually adding the slots directories and whatever else you did seems to have survived your updates.
