Hello,

Does Einstein@Home support this graphics card? It is a model that is used in high end laptops and I'll have a second one added to my order if it will run BOINC in support of Einstein.

Thanks (and Happy Thanksgiving!)

GTX 680M

The BRP CUDA tasks require the following:

- Windows, Linux, or OS X (Leopard only)
- BOINC 6.10.x or higher
- CUDA driver >= 3.2 (>= 260.00)
- 100% GPU (it just uses up to 75%)
- 20% CPU for Windows, 100% CPU for Linux with driver = 270.x
- ca 300 MB of free RAM required on graphics card
- Speed up compared to CPU: up to 20x (240 cores)

That is the list of requirements near the top of the threads in this section, so as long as you can get drivers that are new enough to support the card & include the cuda drivers in it, i dont see why it wouldnt. Only thing i might wonder about is temps with 2 in a laptop :)

Appreciate it! Thought there

Appreciate it! Thought there were card specific drivers or compatibility issues. I'll keep this post updated if I get the cards. Thanks again!

Most likely yes;
one of my NB has a GTX460M, this one works perfect here at Einstein.

Have a challenge here, again.

Have a challenge here, again. My "my computers" my video cards show up (0n L_3) as two 670Ms, but they don't show up krunchin in the task manager.

My new Sager laptop has dual GTX 670M video cards.

Have tried both BOINC 28 and 42 versions - neither worked
Updated other drivers for cards
Windows 7 Professional
Cuda Driver 4.2.1
100% CPU

Help!

From your connection

From your connection log:

In other words, you're using the wrong drivers. The devs banished those drivers here at Einstein as these produce only errors. See [Update Windows NVIDIA drivers to 301.34!] Not shipping Windows BRP4 CUDA tasks to drivers 290.53 ... 300.99 for more information, or do just as the title suggests and update to at least 301.34, or above of course.

Yahoo! Brand new Sager power

Yahoo! Brand new Sager power laptop and I would have thought it had reasonably current drivers in it. Oh well. Thanks again bunch, again for the help guys. Eight more cores and two GPUs in the game.
