Actually what we've found is that you don't actually have to make any changes in your general preferences... just opening them up and clicking on update seems to do the trick. Then update the project. :)
As a side note, i noticed on another thread JKeck said that with the holiday we'll probably have to keep doing this until Monday, possibly Tuesday.

I just updated my general preferences from .75 days to 1 day, and it did not good. I'mm still getting no scheduers responding when I try to update.

Silly question, I know, but you did hit the update button at the bottom of the prefs page after you changed your "days" interval, didn't you?? :).
There's no need to actually change any pref but you must hit the update button and get the message in red at the top of the page about it, before you leave.

Maybe another silly question, did you used the "update project" button in Boinc on your host.
yep same here... only hrs before deadline, running 4.35, behind ZoneAlarm, E@H didn't want to connect, but went in and 'editted' General Prefs.. okay clicked edit, then update, and E@H responded... so got my result in on time.. ;) it did upload but didn't show received... then hit update on BOINC again.. and no dice schedulers didn't respond... edited prefs again.. and all is fine.... suspending E@H until they get this fixed.... ;)
Thank you to everyone who reported problems and/or proposed solutions in this thread.
I think that the problem has now been fixed.
About 24 hours ago I updated the scheduler with a revised version which incorporated a fix for a bug (involving lost credit) which had been reported in another E@H thread. This revised scheduler contained another bug which David Anderson had introduced in fixing the earlier one. Unfortunately this bug didn't turn up in the limited testing that we are able to do.
I've already told them that over in Cruncher's Corner!!! I beat you by about 20 seconds!!!
Thanks very much for sorting out the problem and filing the report. No doubt you will mention it on the front page news as there will still be a lot of people wondering what the hell happened :).
Edit: We can all go back to sleep now :).
Edit2: News item now posted on front page. Thanks very much.

Yes and yes.
I do believe you should start with the most basic steps first, not asuming they are obvious. Thanks.

It is working now.
