Has anyone used the Anker 5 port USB hub to power their Pi3's?
I was thinking of getting the 5 port 40w model but I see they also have a 6 port 60w model. I tried a Belkin 2 port USB charger which was fine for the B and B+ but didn't work well with the Pi2. Currently I am using the official 2 amp power supply for each one and it takes a couple of power boards to plug them all in.

No but it is the one I was going to get when my daughter got me a no-name at the Amazon clearance warehouse. I love Anker, I have a truck load of their stuff. Cables, USB batteries, stands, keyboard, USB chargers, everything has been top notch quality.
Finally the secret is lifted : The new version of the Raspberry Pi Zero, available now, has a camera connector!
Well, this won't help us crunchers, but still it's cool. To celebrate the product launch, David Akerman will launch one of those new Zeros on a stratospheric balloon mission ... about now... streamed live .
Here (https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi-issues/MagPi45.pdf) is the PDF file for a recent issue of Magpi (sorry could not get the pdf to link in bbcode). Scroll down to page 77 (or search for Picon Zero) to see the newest robotic controller for the PiZero. With this addon you can now jam several in a tunnel and regulate fans based upon ambient tunnel temps. With a 3 wire fan you might be able to regulate fan rpm (higher/lower) depending upon current temp. Most interesting.

Did you note that a 3D printer (or access to a local public printer) was required to print the required part which is available for download at thingaverse.
I just tried printing a download for a Pi 7" touch screeen mobile housing, but it failed on the main component of 6 components. I am sure it is my problem and that I need to tweek the settings on the printer. 3D printing is getting there but you do have to be willing to invest some time and effort. Maybe tomorrow or next week...

As an old fart I find it amazing that one can download a file and print out an object. Guess they will be printing body parts soon enough.

I have that same power setup on my desk which is also an older IKEA Galant. I however do not use it to power my pis :)
