Local preferences: Minimum work buffer 3 days / Maximum work buffer 5 days but no BRPs now and Gravitational Wave SEs are running out. Please help !
Thanks,
Arthur

You have your computers hidden, and I assume this is for good reason. However this makes it hard to impossible for ordinary people to help you, as they can't see what's going on.
One of your active computers has contacted the server a couple of times today, but requested only one second of 'work' in total. This host is running a BOINC Client 7.0.28. However I counted 40 tasks 'in progress' assigned to that host, it doesn't look like it will run dry.

Edit: according to your preferences the work cache is 3 days (min 0 additional 3) for that machine ('home').

Sorry, I have unhidden now.

Sorry, I have unhidden now. There are 4 PCs in my account, two of them not working due to holiday. The one named "Turi-PC" works fine, the other named "Arthur-PC" not: No BRPs (no requesting tasks).
Yesterday I tried out a app_info.xml
(C:\BOINC Daten\projects\einstein.phys.uwm.edu\app_info.xml)
for "Arthur-PC" but BOINC crashed . Immediately I deleted the file and restarted BOINC: Only the running tasks were present. After several project refreshings (Projekt Aktualisieren) I got all "lost tasks" again. That's all, no more new tasks. Editing local preferences to MIn 9 / Max 10 days does not help.
I want to optimize all 4 PCs so GPUs will give the maximum power to E@H. The two running PCs are able to run two process each GPU (utilization factor set to 0.5), the other two PCs not, I think. So the only chance to optimize all GPUs is to use unique app_info.xml for each PC, but it's nearly impossible for me to generate such a working app_info. Hope I can still make it ...

RE: I want to optimize all

BOINC allows you to set up to 4 different sets of preferences for each project.
So, all you need to do is to set 2 different venues (Default, Home, Work or School), one to a factor of 1 and the other to a factor of 0.5 and then go to the details page of each computer and set it to the appropiate venue.

Thanks, Horacio ! A very comfortable solution. I have thought about creating a team with 4 accounts - this would be "next step" whith more diffenrently configured PCs and GPUs :-)
Still remaining the problem of "getting no more tasks for one PC". When all tasks GVS6 in buffer will be finished, I will try out updating or reinstalling BOINC on this machine.
A nice weekend to all,
Arthur

Hi Michael, hi Bernd,
Tomorrow morning (in about 8 hours) the work unit basket for PC 5517690 will be emty and all running tasks finished up. Could you recommend any action I can do to solve this problem ?
Thanks, Arthur

Anyone here knows what could make a 7.0.28 Client think that a "project has no apps for CPU"?

You get something similar when you run a GPU only app_info, Because there are no CPU apps in the app_info, Boinc won't ask for CPU work, But in the 'Properties' Box for the project it says 'Project has no apps for CPU',
it could be because he's tried to run an app_info, there no longer any apps mentioned in the client_state.xml, and Boinc won't ask for work because of that, he could try first resetting the project, see if he can get any work,
then trying a detach/reattach, one of those will cause a project initialisation and should ask for a minimum amount of work,

A little bit after i posted that, he got ~120 CPU and GPU tasks,
