Hey everybody,

I have been crunching S@H for a few months now and I always found Einstein@home interesting as well, so I just added Einstein@home to my projects using the "add project" feature in the BOINC program. I signed up with Einstein as a new user using the same email i use for Seti@home, and when it asked me for my name i used the same name here as I use there (Yanivicious). I don't see any evidence that the accounts are "linked" however. When i say linked i mean, i see that when i click on the name of many users on S@H, it shows the different projects they are involved in and their credits in them etc.. on their profile page. Will i be able to see that once i earn some credits in einstein, or did i do this wrong? If anybody could tell me how I could tell i'd be grateful.

And in an unrelated question, I use the lunatics optimized apps on all my computers for Seti@home, does Einstein have similar optimized apps? I haven't found any in my searches. I noticed that the Einstein app that is running in my BOINC right now is using SSE2, is that because it has to run in SSE2 or since my CPU could do SSSE3 or SSE4.1 could i/should i change that (again i'm thinking in terms of how it works with the S@H optimized apps, perhaps it is totally different here- i don't know).

Regards,

Yanivicious

Welcome to the project. We hope you enjoy your stay here.

Then, after BOINC establishes the cross project identification of your account, you will see all your projects as you can see for others. Most people seem to use the same user name across projects but that is not required (although it is sensible if you intend to interact and be recognised on several forums). Only the email address is used in the cross project identification of your account.

You haven't done anything wrong. BOINC just needs some time to pass information back and forth between your projects.

The Devs have put considerable effort (over years and with external assistance) into making sure that the project supplied apps are as optimised as possible. This includes making sure that the CPU capabilities of modern processors are as fully utilised as possible without the user having to worry about choosing a particular app to suit the particular capabilities of the host in question.

So, yes, it is a bit different (much easier) here :-).

Cheers,
Gary.

Usually the syncing of the

Usually the syncing of the accounts will happen within 24-48 hours, but can sometimes take longer. Each project reports at different times, so those reports do not always match up right away and has taken longer. If one project isn't reporting (due to backend outage, or other issues) then it will take longer.

It will happen.
