I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this, but here goes. There are 3 projects listed under the PROJECT tab of BOINC Manager, each with a resource share of 100. I'm only actually crunching on 2 of the projects and would like to remove the 3rd. However, when I try to do that, I get this in the BOINC Event Log:

6/15/2012 5:03:47 PM | Milkyway@home | update requested by user
6/15/2012 5:03:52 PM | Milkyway@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
6/15/2012 5:03:52 PM | Milkyway@home | Not reporting or requesting tasks
6/15/2012 5:03:57 PM | Milkyway@home | Scheduler request failed: HTTP file not found

Since I haven't been running MW for a long time and the files apparently aren't on my system, how do I remove this project?

RE: Detach He's running

Detach

He's running 7.0.25 so it's now called Remove.

If you used an account manager such as Grid Republic or BAM then you need to use it to do it.

I have the same problem -

I have the same problem - Einstein@home sent me the message:

Einstein@Home: Notice from BOINC You are attached to this project twice. Pleas remove projects named Einstein@Home, then add http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/

I use BOINC manager version 7.8.2 (x64).

The button to detach a project is grayed out.

Dear Tullio, what can I do to input the command

"./boinc_client --detach_project"

and what do you mean to use BAM ?

Please help.

thanks

Jochen from Germany

The E@H project is apparently

The E@H project is apparently using a new url (http://einstein.phys.uwn.edu) as the project address so boinc is complaining about the new address.  So the project apparently sent a new account xml file with the new address resulting in two project entries for E@H on the boinc project page with the remove (detach) button greyed out.  I just went to the boinc directory and renamed the account_einstienathome.org.xml file to account_einsteinathome.org.xml.bak and restarted boinc. After restarting boinc, the double E@H entries went back to one and boinc stopped complaining about the wrong url.

BAM is BoincAccountManager located at www.boincstats.com.  If you don't use an account manager, it's not applicable.

Crunching since Feb 2003 (United Devices, Find-a-Drug back then)

Hi, I tried it as you

Hi, I tried it as you described but it won't work. the double projects were created from new each time I started the BOINC manager again.

Then I tried with BAM, detached completely and re-attached again. Now it works.

thanks for help

Jochen

This has to do with BAM

This has to do with BAM changing the EaH master URL. They changed it back now and you should get rid of the second project automatically. If not you may need to remove the host from BAM, remove EaH and attach the host to BAM again.

More technical information is available here: https://einsteinathome.org/content/einsteinhome-project-master-url
