Same here -- Two workunits finished and uploaded overnight on each dual PIII machine (which also run Seti, LHC and CPDN), not reporting yet. No problems.
i have a p4 2.4 running at 2.7Ghz (could/should be 2.9)
and it takes me on average 1hour 15 mins..... :(
need to take my memory speed up and the latency down....
i found it is a real good time for a P4 2,7 mhz
overclocking is not a good idea, see at seti, its give wrong resultats to the scientists.
by the way team have from my side 349 pending credits at this time
OK, the PIII machines seem to take about 2hours 30 minutes (or so) per WU for the 1GHz machine, 2hours 40 minutes for the 933MHz. Not a problem from any so far. Sharing with the other projects is going well, E@H just fits right in, and is taking up the slack of lost work from LHC. These machines are running WinXP SP2.
I have windows XP Pro SP2 runinng on an smp box with a pair of AMD 2100+ MP's. Each cpu does a WU between 54.5 minutes and 55.5 minutes. I'm not sure what my AMD 2100+ XP running linux is doing a wu in.
I just checked on my AMD2100+ XP running on Linux and it is taking almost twice as long to do a wu than the windows box which has a pair of amd2100 MP's. Acording to the BOINC GUI each mp does a wu in around 55.5 minutes
Another interesting thing is that BigDawq is running an athlon64 3200+ and it is taking about 43 minutes per wu verses my 55 minutes for the XP2100's. I have a AMD64 3000 and the last time I compared it on S@H to one of my XP's, it was a lot faster. Or am I missing something here?
The linux version of the code is NOT running as fast as the Windows version on the same hardware. We have been working behind the scenes for some days now to make a Linux executable compiled with the correct optimizations to go as fast as (or perhaps a bit faster than) the Windows code. Hopefully we'll have this ready pretty soon.
