Hello,
I'm having problems running GPU tasks using nVidia 295.51 beta drivers on my Win7 x64 machine. I'm seeing failed tasks for Einstein@Home, SETI@Home, and GPUGrid.Net.
For Einstein@Home, I have BOINC set to attempt tasks on my 2 GeForce 9800GT video cards, but the tasks fail on the 295.51 beta drivers.
The tasks for Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) v1.00 (BRP3cuda32)... error out immediately with the following error information:
Server state Over
Outcome Client error
Client state Compute error
Exit status 1020 (0x3fc)
Validate state Invalid
The extended information says:

If I uninstall the 295.51 beta drivers and reinstall the 290.53 beta drivers, tasks process normally again.
- Is anyone else having this problem with the 295.51 drivers?
- What causes that "Cannot create a symbolic link" error?
- Is it a driver problem, or is it a driver change that will require an update to the Einstein application?

You're already been told on the Boinc Alpha list that myself and Arkayn have had trouble with 295.51, When a Monitor connected to the DVI port goes to sleep, the Cuda device becomes unavailable, try the VGA connection, or a different driver,
TouchuvGrey over at Lunaics also has had trouble with the 295.51 driver:

Thanks for responding. My goal was really to report the error formally, here, and since I couldn't find a post on these forums that mentioned the problem, I posted with as much detail as I had.
Also, I read through the nVidia 295.51 beta driver feedback forum thread on the nVidia forums, and didn't notice anyone else complaining about Einstein@Home, so I wanted to see who else might be having problems.

Have you tried the new WHQL GeForce Drivers, 295.73? I'm testing them now, and was just curious if you were still seeing problems with 295.73's.

I've got the final WHQL certified version of 295.73 running on dual GTX580's, and every cuda task from Einstein@home is failing with a computational error. Strangely, the cuda tasks from seti@home are still working and do not report a computational error. Hopefully NVIDIA can work this out, since I've had to suspend all my einstein@home tasks until they fix this. Unfortunately, going back to an earlier driver isn't an option for me, since I want some of the features in the newest driver.

Every WU crash if the monitor was on sleeping mode)
I get back by reinstalling the 285.62 whql driver version (available on the Nvidia site).
I use the full installation option and then every thing now is OK

Yep, i tried them by doing an offline Setiathome bench, same bug as 295.51, didn't try them online, i have no wish to error out multiple Wu's, i've reverted back to 290.53 now,
I updated my Bug report to Nvidia, still no response.

You might also consider chiming in on the nVidia Feedback thread, for the 295.73 drivers, located here:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=223426 ... and providing as much feedback as possible. Once mine start failing, I'll post there too, and hopefully they hear us, as I roll back to 290.53 (the last ones that worked for me).
It's sad that we haven't received responses -- either they are completely swamped with bugs, or they just don't care. Either way, it saddening and frustrating.

Sorry folks. Apparently all the SETI units that completed correctly were being completed while the monitor was still awake. Since allowing the monitor to go into sleep mode, all the SETI units are failing also.
